Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Maurice Dupont Runs 4.548/178.07, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.199/231.75, Was #17
Right Lane: Cameron Ferre Runs 4.409/177.63, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.112/146.46, Was #18

Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 1,734 feet, track temperature 82 degrees.

No help here for Dupont and he will not get in the show.

Ferre with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 3.773/319.14, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.796/294.56, Was #13

Laughlin is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend...he will stay in the number 13 spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.135, 660ft-3.020/284.56 mph.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.759/324.83, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.751/324.59, Was #12
Right Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.712/311.92, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.714/330.63, Was #11

Langdon with a good pass, but will not improve. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-3.013/286.38 mph.

Hart appeared to push out a head gasket in the lights. He still makes his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves up the ladder one spot. Josh Hart's incremental times: 60ft-0.822 sec., 330ft-2.088, 660ft-2.956/288.15 mph.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.696/329.26, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.714/331.28, Was #11
Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 6.129/98.72, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.701/331.77, Was #6

Brown launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number five spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.104, 660ft-2.965/292.46 mph.

Schumacher started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Ashley with another good pass, but will not improve. He will start Sunday from the number 10 spot. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.107, 660ft-2.969/288.52 mph.

Kalitta launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight. He makes his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves up the ladder one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.099, 660ft-2.959/291.76 mph.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.721/312.78, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.705/331.04, Was #9
Right Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.666/331.45, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.673/333.91, Was #4

Millican was on a good looking pass until right it the lights when it appeared he pushed out a head gasket with a quick flash of flames. He will start Sunday from the number nine spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.112, 660ft-2.974/291.51 mph.

Salinas with a great looking pass, he is straight down the groove. He kept the candles lit all way down the track. He makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up the ladder one spot. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.820 sec., 330ft-2.081, 660ft-2.939/294.75 mph.

Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.689/330.31, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.705/332.43, Was #8
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.647/332.10, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.656/333.33, Was #2

Prock kept it hooked up all the way down the track. He makes his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves up the ladder three spots. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.827 sec., 330ft-2.100, 660ft-2.960/293.09 mph.

Torrence with a great pass, he kept it hooked up all the way down the track. He makes his career quickest pass. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.818 sec., 330ft-2.073, 660ft-2.923/295.92 mph.

Left Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.692/324.59, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.669/329.67, Was #4
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.659/333.91, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.641/338.94, Was #1

A great side-by-side drag race to wrap up 2022 Top Fuel qualifying.

Pruett with another great pass, she will not improve. She makes the fifth quickest pass of the round. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.102, 660ft-2.961/289.01 mph.

Force with another great pass. She makes the second quickest pass of the session. She holds on to the number one spot for the 10th time this season and 42nd time of her career. She is just the second Top Fuel driver to qualify number one 10 time in a season two seasons in a row. Schumacher is the other driver nd he did it three seasons in a row. 2005 - 2007. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.823 sec., 330ft-2.079, 660ft-2.938/294.82 mph.
