POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.097/191.73, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.111/189.58, Was #15
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 6.909/192.22, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.965/190.43, Was #12

12:06 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 26 percent, barometer 30.03 inches, adjusted altitude 1,698 feet.

Angel Sampey is number one at 6.703 and Eddie Krawiec is on the bump spot at 7.263. The announcer just said that today this is his last race for Phillips as a rider and he will be focusing on his family's racing next year.

He finds a little more power and makes his best run of the weekend to move up one spot to #14.

Bostick makes his best run too and moves up to #11.

Michael Phillips' incremental times: 60ft-1.139 sec., 330ft-2.993, 660ft-4.562/156.30 mph, 1,000ft-5.929.
Chris Bostick's incremental times: 60ft-1.060 sec., 330ft-2.873, 660ft-4.410/159.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.754.


Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.937/200.23, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.977/196.87, Was #13
Right Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 13.016/59.41, Now #18; Best prior run: 9.398/93.99, Was #18

Evaristo continues to struggle and slows early.

Arana runs the first 200 MPH of the session to move up to the #12 spot.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.135 sec., 330ft-2.977, 660ft-4.496/161.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.815.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.920/194.24, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.885/192.91, Was #10
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.720/No Speed, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.568/134.35, Was #17

Gladstone finally gets a full pass and it is a good one. He move up into the field and into the #3 spot. Nice!

Clontz is just a little off her earlier best and loses a place to #11.

Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.080 sec., 330ft-2.889, 660ft-4.425/159.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.768.
Joey Gladstone's incremental times: 60ft-1.037 sec., 330ft-2.800, 660ft-4.296/163.71 mph, 1,000ft-5.602.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.872/195.45, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.877/196.56, Was #10

Justin was supposed to be in the other lane.

Oehler runs just a little quicker to stay #10.

Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.091 sec., 330ft-2.877, 660ft-4.393/160.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.725.

Left Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.889/133.92, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.871/193.85, Was #9
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.214/198.88, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.263/196.47, Was #17

Krawiec's pike struggles off the line and he will stay outside looking in for this session.

Herrera runs hard to right before the lights and then slows to stay #9.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.087 sec., 330ft-2.883, 660ft-4.404/160.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.740.
Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.370 sec., 330ft-3.237, 660ft-4.764/161.13 mph, 1,000ft-6.086.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson No Time, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.840/192.93, Was #8
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 6.924/196.47, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.953/194.35, Was #14

Johnson's bike gets weird off the line after a late light . It is bouncing around and he finally gives it up and stops on the track for no time.

Camarena makes his best pass of the weekend and runs straight and true to the #13 spot.

Freddie Camarena's incremental times: 60ft-1.101 sec., 330ft-2.914, 660ft-4.446/159.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.782.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.761/198.29, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.797/198.26, Was #5
Right Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.812/194.69, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.828/195.00, Was #7

Katie Justice is on the bump spot at 7.107.

Two side by side passes and they finish right together.

They both find a little more ET, but Ingwersen is the only one to move up the ladder. He goes to #6.

Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.042 sec., 330ft-2.812, 660ft-4.317/162.43 mph, 1,000ft-5.633.
Marc Ingwersen's incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.835, 660ft-4.347/161.90 mph, 1,000ft-5.669.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.771/195.00, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.703/201.61, Was #1
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.811/196.76, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.815/197.51, Was #7

Sampey makes a clean pass and does not improve.

Stoffer makes her best ET and will move up to #6.

Angelle Sampey's incremental times: 60ft-1.042 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.307/162.04 mph, 1,000ft-5.632.
Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.826, 660ft-4.342/160.82 mph, 1,000ft-5.672.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.731/202.52, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.719/202.70, Was #2
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.738/202.94, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.744/201.97, Was #4

Two more strong passes and Angie Smith runs faster than Matt to take over top speed of the event. She runs a little quicker to stay #4.

Smith runs clean and straight to the finish line, but will not improve.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.835, 660ft-4.327/164.39 mph, 1,000ft-5.624.
Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.066 sec., 330ft-2.844, 660ft-4.333/164.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.631.

12:26 p.m. Angelle Sampey stays number one at 6.703 and Katie Justice is on the bump spot at 7.107.
