POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 7.797/70.47, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.797/70.47, Was #17
Right Lane: Ron August Runs 4.113/269.56, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.113/269.56, Was #8

Weather conditions: air temperature 63 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 30.01 inches, adjusted altitude 1,693 feet, track temperature 88 degrees.

Chrisman making his first pass this season, he makes a move toward the centerline and clicks it off.

August starts to make a move toward the centerline on the top end and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.669/329.67, Now #1; Best prior run: 9.948/69.35, Was #18

Ferre was to run along side of Pruett and decided to sit this one out.

Pruett launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. She makes her quickest pass of the season. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.827 sec., 330ft-2.088, 660ft-2.943/295.98 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.679/329.58, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.707/153.39, Was #15
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.715/325.61, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.369/94.55, Was #17

Salinas with a great pass to go to the number two spot. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.826 sec., 330ft-2.091, 660ft-2.951/293.66 mph.

Millican with a good looking pass to go to the number four spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.116, 660ft-2.982/292.77 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.699/328.94, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.664/162.02, Was #16
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.705/332.43, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.498/168.35, Was #15

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Kalitta with the header flames shooting high over the rear wing. He kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.835 sec., 330ft-2.107, 660ft-2.968/292.33 mph.

Prock is right there with Kalitta to go to the number four spot. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.829 sec., 330ft-2.109, 660ft-2.978/292.65 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.656/333.33, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.485/165.99, Was #16
Right Lane: Maurice Dupont Runs 4.886/151.24, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.422/191.65, Was #15

Torrence with a great pass...he kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. He is just a tick off his career quickest pass. He makes his fastest pass of the season. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.820 sec., 330ft-2.079, 660ft-2.932/294.82 mph.

Dupont starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Krista Baldwin Runs 3.863/306.95, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.908/294.95, Was #13
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.751/324.59, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.281/188.36, Was #15

Baldwin with a goo clean pass...Krista Baldwin's incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.207, 660ft-3.102/282.13 mph.

Langdon kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number 15 spot. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.138, 660ft-3.013/289.69 mph.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 6.896/84.41, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.759/325.61, Was #11
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 3.796/294.56, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.797/324.20, Was #13

Schumacher lost traction early and clicked it off.

Laughlin with another good looking pass, he improves by a tick. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.149, 660ft-3.028/287.41 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.641/338.94, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.742/328.46, Was #9
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.706/329.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.765/315.19, Was #12

Force launched hard and kept the flames shooting high over the rear wing. She goes to the number one spot. She makes the fastest pass in the history of Top Fuel. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.824 sec., 330ft-2.075, 660ft-2.928/297.94 mph.

Ashley is straight down the groove and moves into the top half of the show. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.117, 660ft-2.974/292.71 mph.

Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 7.609/89.25, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.718/335.07, Was #10
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.726/309.91, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.715/332.10, Was #8

Hart started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Brown with another good looking pass, but will not improve. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.833 sec., 330ft-2.099, 660ft-2.961/288.03 mph.
