Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Final Session

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Brett Williamson Runs 5.419/247.66, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.514/225.56, Was #19
Right Lane: Kim Parker Runs 5.325/270.86, Now #10; Best prior run: 10.726/96.15, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 19 percent, barometer 30.02 inches, adjusted altitude 1,849 feet.

Williamson with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show. Brett Williamson's incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.443, 660ft-3.569/221.42 mph, 1,000ft-4.542.

Joey Severance is on the bump spot at 5.376.

Chesleigh kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his career quickest pass. He moves upo the ladder a couple spots. Eric Chesleigh's incremental times: 60ft-0.932 sec., 330ft-2.406, 660ft-3.527/221.60 mph, 1,000ft-4.489.

Severance launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to get in the show up in the top half of the show. Joey Severance's incremental times: 60ft-0.893 sec., 330ft-2.324, 660ft-3.439/222.62 mph, 1,000ft-4.396.

Left Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.398/246.08, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.325/267.00, Was #15
Right Lane: Travis Shumake Runs 5.558/219.65, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.376/271.30, Was #18

Nataas slows on the top end, but stays in the number 15 spot.

Shumake clicks it off early and he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.328/264.80, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mike Austin Runs 5.378/269.62, Now #16; No Prior Run

Grisel with another good looking pass, but will not improve. He stays in the number 11 spot. Casey Grisel's incremental times: 60ft-0.923 sec., 330ft-2.419, 660ft-3.539/223.21 mph, 1,000ft-4.494.

austin with a good clean pass, but will not get off the bump spot.

Salinas with another good looking pass, but will not improve. Jasmine Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.956 sec., 330ft-2.437, 660ft-3.548/225.90 mph, 1,000ft-4.486.

Anderson kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number four spot. He makes his career quickest and season fastest. Ron Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.922 sec., 330ft-2.369, 660ft-3.463/228.19 mph, 1,000ft-4.400.

Right Lane: Tom Fox Jr. Runs 9.535/138.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.263/275.51, Was #10

Cowie with another good looking pass, the fourth quickest of the session. Shawn Cowie's incremental times: 60ft-0.944 sec., 330ft-2.378, 660ft-3.489/223.28 mph, 1,000ft-4.440.

Fox Jr. was up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 5.242/275.06, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.201/276.41, Was #3

Vetter launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to make the second quickest pass of the session. She will not improve, but is just a tick off her qualifying time. Taylor Vetter's incremental times: 60ft-0.921 sec., 330ft-2.363, 660ft-3.465/225.26 mph, 1,000ft-4.408.

Cummings is straight down the groove with the fifth quickest pass of the session. After the run there was no chutes. He gets it slowed down, but noses into the sand. He will not improve. Matthew Cummings' incremental times: 60ft-0.943 sec., 330ft-2.399, 660ft-3.496/228.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.433.

Left Lane: Garrett Bateman Runs 5.425/262.64, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.189/275.28, Was #2
Right Lane: Madison Payne Runs 5.222/277.89, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.177/281.19, Was #1

Bateman has a hole out right at the hit and never gets it to pick up.

Payne with another good pass, she makes the fourth quickest pass of the session. She holds on to the number one spot. This is the first time she has qualified number one at a National event in Top Alcohol Dragster. Madison Payne's incremental times: 60ft-0.917 sec., 330ft-2.382, 660ft-3.483/227.65 mph, 1,000ft-4.419.
