Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #2

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.384/275.84, Now #11; Best prior run: 11.597/71.00, Was #20
Right Lane: Brett Williamson Runs 8.670/99.82, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.514/225.56, Was #15

Fricke is straight down the groove, hitting on all eight to get in the show. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.933 sec., 330ft-2.517, 660ft-3.634/225.18 mph, 1,000ft-4.575.

Williamson started to lose traction and clicked it off, he will stand on his time from earlier today.

Left Lane: Kim Parker Runs 10.726/96.15, Now #20; Best prior run: 11.012/80.85, Was #20
Right Lane: Trevor Larkin Runs 5.713/261.72, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.431/260.41, Was #15

Parker lost traction early and clicked it off.

Larkin started to lose traction and pedaled it a couple times.

Left Lane: Johnny Ahten Runs 5.495/235.15, Now #16; Best prior run: 10.594/85.06, Was #19
Right Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.301/266.64, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.420/270.16, Was #14

Ahten starts to mix up the cylinders and lose traction on the top end. He clicked it off early, but still gets in the show.

Grisel kept it hooked up to move into the top half of the show. Casey Grisel's incremental times: 60ft-0.926 sec., 330ft-2.414, 660ft-3.529/224.62 mph, 1,000ft-4.475.

Left Lane: Tom Fox Jr. Runs 5.263/275.51, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.607/255.43, Was #19
Right Lane: Garrett Bateman Runs 5.189/275.28, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.391/273.94, Was #13

Fox Jr. was straight down the groove with a great looking pass to get in the show all the way up to the number four spot. Tom Fox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.370, 660ft-3.490/221.23 mph, 1,000ft-4.448.

Bateman launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. He makes his quickest pass of the season. Garrett Bateman's incremental times: 60ft-0.921 sec., 330ft-2.369, 660ft-3.454/230.37 mph, 1,000ft-4.382.

Left Lane: Joey Severance Runs 5.376/216.20, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.585/271.08, Was #19
Right Lane: Chris Demke Runs 16.180/44.11, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.365/271.90, Was #11

Severance with a good clean pass to get back in the show. Joey Severance's incremental times: 60ft-0.884 sec., 330ft-2.319, 660ft-3.430/222.88 mph, 1,000ft-4.403.

Demke was up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Austin Runs 5.358/270.43, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.414/266.32, Was #16
Right Lane: Eric Chesleigh Runs 8.897/101.10, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.335/268.87, Was #10

Austin is straight down the groove to get off the bubble spot. He goes to the number 11 spot. Mike Austin's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.404, 660ft-3.547/216.65 mph, 1,000ft-4.526.

Chesleigh started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Ron Anderson Runs 5.268/272.01, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.377/272.78, Was #15
Right Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.349/264.29, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.325/267.00, Was #9

Anderson kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up. He makes his career quickest pass to go to the number five spot.

Ron Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.412, 660ft-3.513/227.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.453.

Nataas with a good clean pass, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Travis Shumake Runs 16.694/61.42, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.376/271.30, Was #14
Right Lane: Taylor Vetter Runs 5.209/280.54, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.298/279.67, Was #8

Shumake is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Vetter launched hard and kept it hooked up to make her career quickest and fastest pass to go to the number three spot. Taylor Vetter's incremental times: 60ft-0.921 sec., 330ft-2.369, 660ft-3.469/225.37 mph, 1,000ft-4.410.

Left Lane: Madison Payne Runs 5.177/281.19, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.275/278.35, Was #8
Right Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 5.251/278.63, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.270/276.46, Was #7

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Payne kept it hooked up and hitting on ll eight to go to the number one spot. She ties her career best E.T. and makes he=r career fastest pass. Madison Payne's incremental times: 60ft-0.918 sec., 330ft-2.369, 660ft-3.458/229.74 mph, 1,000ft-4.383.

Salinas is straight down the groove to move up the ladder one spot. Jasmine Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.944 sec., 330ft-2.417, 660ft-3.518/228.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.451.

Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 8.214/107.17, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.201/276.41, Was #3
Right Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 14.350/50.65, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.231/274.66, Was #5

Cummings lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.
