POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 57th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Clint Thompson Runs 5.693/222.03, Now #2
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.522/264.03, Now #1

2:01 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 30.07 inches, adjusted altitude 1,609 feet.

Two clean passes to start the session. Thompson clicks it off a little early, but Whiteley makes a full pass.

Right Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.498/269.13, Now #1

Whiteley shows the field better numbers for them to chase.

No issues for Martin.

Right Lane: Ulf Leanders Runs 5.451/264.49, Now #1

Leanders is the next car in the left lane to take the top spot with even better times.

Mikey D runs straight and clean to the finish line.

Right Lane: Brian Hough No Time, Now #10

They leave hard together and Januik is off the throttle early and coasting

Hough's Camaro starts a steady pull towards the center light near the 660 lights and he takes out both reflectors to DQ his run.

Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.494/265.74, Now #2

2:16 p.m. Back to qualifying!

Bellemeur gets a big lead off the line and pulls steadily ahead to capture the current #2 spot.

Gill was late and the car was lazy off the line. He clicks it ff way early.

Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.965 sec., 330ft-2.484, 660ft-3.652/030.66 mph, 1,000ft-4.648.

Left Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.548/266.74, Now #7
Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.430/270.70, Now #1

The best run comes last, as Gordon is second off the line, but first by a bunch to the finish line to capture the final top spot of the session.

Westerfield leaves with a terrific 0.006 light and chases Gordon to finish #7.

Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.522, 660ft-3.705/210.87 mph, 1,000ft-4.703.
Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.454, 660ft-3.615/031.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.599.
