LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Robert Turner No Time, Now #17; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Doug Schneider Runs 6.680/249.49, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.650/255.82, Was #11

6:12 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 9 percent, barometer 30.15 inches, adjusted altitude 2,804 feet.

Ulf Leanders is on the bump spot at 8.623.

Two broken passes!

Schneider' Monte Carlo kicks the tires off the line. He tries to pump the throttle to no avail and he is done.

Turner leaves hard and has his Mont Carlo drive hard to and across the center line about the 660 lights. He pulls it back into his lane and coasts to the finish line.

Left Lane: Mike Doushgounian Runs 5.632/257.83, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.633/123.83, Was #15

Doushgounian gets the power to the track this time and takes his Camaro right up the ladder to the #11 spot on a great looking pass.

Mike Doushgounian's incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.516, 660ft-3.728/204.01 mph, 1,000ft-4.759.

Right Lane: Ulf Leanders Runs 5.750/256.02, Now #14; Best prior run: 8.623/115.63, Was #16

Both of these cars should be way further up the ladder.

Much better than earlier, but not stellar passes.

Hool gets a big advantage off the line and runs strong up four spots to #11.

Leanders's Camaro slowed some on the top end and he will only improve by just two spots.

Kris Hool's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.538, 660ft-3.733/208.49 mph, 1,000ft-4.749.

Two strong passes and they swap places on the ladder.

Westerfield gets away first by a bunch, but slows a little to end up in the tenth spot.

Januik finds some power and moves up to number nine.

Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.536, 660ft-3.733/208.33 mph, 1,000ft-4.743.

Whiteley's Camaro leave hard and then goes silent before the 660 lights.

Hough runs close to his session one times to stay #6.

Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.455/268.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.498/264.86, Was #4

Gill's Camaro starts tail wagging right off the line and he had to lift.

Nice clean and straight pass for Gordon to move up to spots on the ladder to the current number to spot.

Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.453, 660ft-3.624/211.56 mph, 1,000ft-4.617.

Last pair!

Great side by side run and both cars improve on their ET's.

Marshall was already number one and powers right on down the track to push the top spot ever further.

Bellemeur was away first and paces him to the finish line with a better ET and speed, but stays #3 for tonight.
