Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Michael Phillips No Time, Now #20; No Prior Run

3:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 69 degrees, relative humidity 8 percent, barometer 30.18 inches, adjusted altitude 2,783 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Angelle Sampey is number one at 6.816 and Hector Arana Jr is on the bump spot at 7.165.

The bikes today are struggling to stay in their lanes. Phillips leave hard and then the bike heads directly across the center line to DQ the run.

Left Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.989/191.48, Now #12; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.998/196.59, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.165/153.79, Was #16

Two much better passes and they both move three spots up the ladder,.

Jianna Evaristo's incremental times: 60ft-1.092 sec., 330ft-2.915, 660ft-4.472/157.61 mph, 1,000ft-5.826.
Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.130 sec., 330ft-2.979, 660ft-4.516/159.46 mph, 1,000ft-5.855.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.999/193.46, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.154/190.62, Was #17
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 7.054/194.07, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.255/187.05, Was #18

Katie Sullivan is on the bump spot at 7.067.

Clontz is away first and pull stealy ahead to bump into the field.

Bostick makes a much better pass, but just misses the new bump spot.

Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.088 sec., 330ft-2.938, 660ft-4.490/157.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.842.
Chris Bostick's incremental times: 60ft-1.143 sec., 330ft-2.996, 660ft-4.548/157.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.900.

Left Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.070/191.73, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.067/187.18, Was #18
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 6.996/193.13, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.047/190.75, Was #16

Freddie Camarena is on the bump spot at 7.047 and gets it all together this time to move up to #13.

No joy for Sullivan, as she slows a tad to stay #18.

Katie Sullivan's incremental times: 60ft-1.109 sec., 330ft-2.962, 660ft-4.531/156.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.900.
Freddie Camarena's incremental times: 60ft-1.112 sec., 330ft-2.934, 660ft-4.482/158.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.836.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.915/194.83, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.941/192.19, Was #10
Right Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.968/191.87, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.002/191.38, Was #16

Two strong runs to the finish line.

Herrera gets the better of it and moves five spots off the bump to the current #11 spot.

Stoffer improves a little to stay #10.

Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.076 sec., 330ft-2.890, 660ft-4.426/159.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.766.
Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.090 sec., 330ft-2.901, 660ft-4.448/157.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.804.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.844/196.27, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.904/194.63, Was #9
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.929/194.86, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.986/192.69, Was #12

Kelly Clontz is on the bump spot at 6.999.

Oehler leaves with a five light and pickup his pace to move up one spot on the ladder to #11.

Savoie gets all of it this time and make a great look pass all the ay up to the current #3 spot.

Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.056 sec., 330ft-2.848, 660ft-4.372/160.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.703.
Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.096 sec., 330ft-2.901, 660ft-4.438/159.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.780.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.797/201.04, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.892/200.41, Was #9
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.872/196.70, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.860/194.97, Was #6

Smith makes a statement with low ET and top speed! Nice!

Gladstone slows a tad and loses a spot.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.066 sec., 330ft-2.865, 660ft-4.373/162.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.682.
Joey Gladstone's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.872, 660ft-4.400/160.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.733.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis No Time, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.868/196.67, Was #9
Right Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 7.004/194.88, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.855/195.56, Was #6

Ellis has issues and can't make the pass.

No joy for Ingwersen too.

Marc Ingwersen's incremental times: 60ft-1.191 sec., 330ft-2.992, 660ft-4.522/160.04 mph, 1,000ft-5.856.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.846/199.02, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.862/199.11, Was #8
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.902/195.65, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.846/197.02, Was #5

Smith finds a little more tune up and moves up three spots to # on a strong pass.

Krawiec slows and loses a spot.

Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.086 sec., 330ft-2.881, 660ft-4.396/161.90 mph, 1,000ft-5.718.
Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.087 sec., 330ft-2.898, 660ft-4.425/160.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.759.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.807/198.64, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.816/197.80, Was #2
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.832/195.19, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.832/194.30, Was #3

Both riders makes strong passes.

Sampey finds a little more power, but stays number two.

Johnson matches his round one ET and picks up a little speed to stay #3.

Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.039 sec., 330ft-2.825, 660ft-4.350/160.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.686.

3:44 p.m. matt Smith is number one at 6.686 and Kelly Clontz is on the bump spot at 6.999.
