Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #1

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 37th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Jeff Diehl No Time, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 11 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 2,517 feet, track temperature 123 degrees.

Diehl is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 8.268/68.49, Now #2
Right Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.052/322.26, Now #1

Haddock lost traction early and then the chute came out.

Lee with a clean pass, straight down the groove. Paul Lee's incremental times: 60ft-0.894 sec., 330ft-2.308, 660ft-3.284/266.71 mph.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 4.013/310.71, Now #2
Right Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.976/320.74, Now #1

Green was straight down the groove. Chad Green's incremental times: 60ft-0.892 sec., 330ft-2.302, 660ft-3.241/277.16 mph.

Alexander kept it hooked up to make a nice pass to start the weekend. Blake Alexander's incremental times: 60ft-0.892 sec., 330ft-2.281, 660ft-3.215/275.06 mph.

Left Lane: Jeff Diehl Runs 64.999/0.00, Now #1

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 8.268/68.49, Now #2
Right Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.052/322.26, Now #1

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 4.013/310.71, Now #2
Right Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.976/320.74, Now #1

Left Lane: Jim Campbell Runs 4.042/316.34, Now #4
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 4.024/317.24, Now #3

Left Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 3.953/323.76, Now #1
Right Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.960/327.34, Now #2

This is a great looking side-by-side drag race.

Wilkerson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot.

Todd is right there with him to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Alexis Dejoria Runs 3.981/321.41, Now #5
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.957/328.92, Now #2

DeJoria with a good clean pass to go to the number five spot. Alexis DeJoria's incremental times: 60ft-0.893 sec., 330ft-2.282, 660ft-3.224/275.79 mph.

Tasca III kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Bob Tasca III's incremental times: 60ft-0.897 sec., 330ft-2.301, 660ft-3.215/282.70 mph.

Left Lane: John Force Runs 3.907/331.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.938/327.01, Now #2

This is a great drag race...

Force kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up to go the number one spot.

Hagan is right there with him to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 4.800/165.10, Now #13
Right Lane: Robert Hight Runs 3.924/331.79, Now #2

Capps starts to the lose traction and clicks it off by half track.

Hight with a great pass to go the the number two spot. Robert Hight's incremental times: 60ft-0.885 sec., 330ft-2.262, 660ft-3.184/280.16 mph.
