Billy Meyer's famed Texas Motorplex had an active and highly successful season of drag racing in 2021
which started by hosting the largest Funny Car event in over fifty years with the Funny Car Chaos
season opener in late March. This highly anticipated drag race attracted a record sixty-eight funny
car teams from coast to coast to compete for over $50,000. The Motorplex staff led by Andy Carter
continued to raise the bar and capped off the season with the "Stampede of Speed" last month which
took their national event weekend to an entirely new level of entertainment. That momentum will carry
forward into next year as the 2nd Annual Funny Car Chaos Classic will bust through the gates in
Ennis, Texas on March 24th-26th and will again stand as the only event in the world to qualify 32
Funny Cars for the main event. With that also comes a series record high payout, guaranteed at over
$55,000!

"Everything is bigger in Texas, right? The Texas Motorplex rolled out the red carpet for our series
to kick off the 2021 season and it was just a magical weekend for everyone in attendance. The teams
loved it, the fans loved it, we all had more fun that we could stand and that's why we do this. To
attract almost seventy funny cars to Texas was very exciting and we sure hope to repeat and improve
on that effort to start the 2022 season. This is the richest Funny Car Chaos race on our schedule,
the only event in the world qualifying 32 cars and the Motorplex gives our teams a stellar surface to
lay down big numbers and put on a show for the fans. We're pretty pumped to say the least and want to
give a big thank you to Billy Meyer, Andy Carter and team Motorplex for believing in what we're doing
at Funny Car Chaos," says series founder Chris Graves.

Del Worsham vs. Bill Bernard
|
This past March, Funny Car Chaos performance records were shattered by Del Worsham who's 3.196
elapsed time and 275.57 mile per hour time slips wowed the crowd and still stand as current series
records in their eighth mile heads up, run whatcha' brung competition format. Worsham went onto the
final round of the elite 'A' Field and fell to surprise winner Kyle Smith in his family run TA/FC.
Doug Schneider, Bill Bernard and Tom Furches also claimed victories in their respective classes. The
Funny Car Chaos series has no limitations to engine combination or body style, which brings a unique
and unpredictable level of excitement with every pair that thunders down the drag strip. Their
elimination ladders are based on qualifying performance, grouping fields of eight cars together in
the A-B-C-D Fields of competition providing side by side action and multiple event winners.

Over eighty-five funny car teams participated in the Chaos series in 2021 and it appears many more
are on their way as finishing touches on several new teams are being made with planned debuts at the
Texas Motorplex next March. From nostalgia bodied nitro burners and screw blown alcohol combinations,
to modern bodied big show combinations, even twin turbocharged and nitrous assisted set-ups, the
Chaos brings an unpredictable variety of flip top floppers to the starting line in a heads-up format
that keeps the fans on their feet.

The Second Annual Funny Car Chaos Classic is adding plenty of icing to the Chaos cake as this event
doubles as the season opener for the popular Outlaw Fuel Altered series and also includes the Dirty
South Gassers, Texas Drag Racing Association, jet funny cars and more. There is a lot more coming in
the way of news and announcements as plans come together, but Funny Car Chaos and the Texas Motorplex
can now confirm the 'A' Field winner will claim $10,000, 'B' Field winner $5,000 and the 'C' and 'D'
Fields will pay $3,000 to the winners, while all 32 qualifiers also claim respectable portions of
over $55,000 in total payouts.

The Motorplex will kick off an eight race Championship tour for Funny Car Chaos, presented by Spell
Paving Services, Wulff Pumps and Fat Tirez Apparel. Additional destinations include visits to State
Capitol Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA, Penwell Knights Raceway in Odessa, TX, Kearney Raceway Park in
Kearney, NE, Eddyville Raceway in Eddyville, IA, Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, MO and Alamo City
Motorplex in San Antonio, TX.
This drag race is sure to please, so make your plans now and don't miss any of action at the Second
Annual Funny Car Chaos Classic, March 24-26th at the historic Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.
Tickets will go on sale soon at
