POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 56th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 30.01 inches, adjusted altitude 3,124 feet.

This is the first time Mercier and Grisel have faced each other in eliminations.

Mercier just makes the call as he was having problems with the car. He makes it and is up in smoke as soon as the light turns green.

Grisel with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win.
