LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.678/261.32, Now #6; Best prior run: 10.376/73.40, Was #9
Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.681/260.71, Now #7; Best prior run: 10.563/110.44, Was #10

Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 19 percent, barometer 29.93 inches, adjusted altitude 3,538 feet.

Hough with a quick off and on the throttle and gets it to hook up to get in the show. Brian Hough's incremental times: 60ft-0.971 sec., 330ft-2.579, 660ft-3.797/205.32 mph, 1,000ft-4.817.

Januik sounded like he also had a quick pedal job and he is right there with Hough to get in the show. Nick Januik's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.577, 660ft-3.791/206.07 mph, 1,000ft-4.817.

Left Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.536/266.11, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.335/132.63, Was #9
Right Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 7.703/133.29, Now #10; Best prior run: 8.602/117.84, Was #10

Bellemeur launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.499, 660ft-3.686/209.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.690.

Gasparrelli started to rattle the tires and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Ray Martin Runs 5.948/247.57, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.686/257.78, Was #9
Right Lane: Hunter Jones Runs 8.486/132.56, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.623/259.81, Was #5

Martin started to lose traction right before half track and had quick pedal job. He will not improve and i down to one more shot to get in the show.

Jones started to shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Terry Ruckman Runs 5.517/265.90, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.631/262.33, Was #6
Right Lane: Chris Marshall Runs 8.043/135.36, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.554/265.27, Was #4

Ruckman kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up to go to the number two spot. He makes his quickest and fastest pass this season. Terry Ruckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.489, 660ft-3.670/209.92 mph, 1,000ft-4.671.

Marshall started to shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.517/266.06, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.500/266.27, Was #1
Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.521/264.23, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.540/263.77, Was #4

Whiteley with a little wiggle around the 330-foot mark, but she stays with it. She ties Ruckman with the quickest pass of the session, but holds on to the number one spot with her pass from earlier today. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.490, 660ft-3.672/209.98 mph, 1,000ft-4.672.

Gordon was straight down the groove with a great looking pass. He makes the third quickest pass of the session and his quickest pass of the day to go to the number three spot. Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.479, 660ft-3.663/209.56 mph, 1,000ft-4.670.
