Steve Torrence, Erica Enders and Matt Hagan celebrate wins.
MADISON, Ill. - It was a day for defending world champions in the NHRA Camping World Drag
Racing Series on Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway, as Steve Torrence, Matt Hagan and Erica
Enders all raced to playoff victories at the NHRA Midwest Nationals.
It was the 16th of 20 races during the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season and the
third of seven events in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
Steve Torrence, 3.736 seconds, 328.78 mph defeated Mike Salinas, 3.996 seconds, 226.70 mph.
Torrence jumped back into the points lead, earning his ninth win of the season and 49th win in his
career, beating Mike Salinas in the final round.
Matt Hagan, Dodge Charger, 3.933 seconds, 333.49 mph defeated Bob Tasca III, Ford Mustang, 3.967
seconds, 329.99 mph.
Funny Car defending world champ Matt Hagan drove to his third win of the season and 39th in his
career, beating Bob Tasca III in the final round and moving into the points lead in the class.
Pro Stock's Erica Enders won for the third straight year at St. Louis, beating Dallas Glenn in the
final round. It was her fourth win of the year and 33rd in her career.
