MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Keith Murt Runs 6.857/139.75, Now #2
Right Lane: Lex Joon Runs 3.953/240.12, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 29.96 inches, adjusted altitude 2,108 feet, track temperature 97 degrees.

Murt is making his Top Fuel debut in Tim wilkerson's Top Fueler. The car went silent when the light turned green.

Joon was on a good pass and he clicked it off early. Lex Joon's incremental times: 60ft-0.843 sec., 330ft-2.145, 660ft-3.038/275.84 mph.

Left Lane: T.J. Zizzo Runs 3.798/325.53, Now #2
Right Lane: Tripp Tatum Runs 3.745/323.81, Now #1

Zizzo is straight down the groove with a good looking pas. T.J. Zizzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.159, 660ft-3.054/283.55 mph.

Tatum launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his career quickest pass to go to the number one spot. T.J. Zizzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.159, 660ft-3.054/283.55 mph.

Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.793/322.65, Now #3
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.772/317.57, Now #2

This was a good looking side-by-side drag drag race.

Massey with a good clean pass, straight down the groove to the number three spot. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.152, 660ft-3.045/283.79 mph.

Palmer is back in his car and he kept it hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Scott Palmer's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-3.023/284.27 mph.

Left Lane: Joey Haas Runs 3.966/298.27, Now #7
Right Lane: Kyle Wurtzel Runs 3.809/316.82, Now #5

Hass with a clean pass to start the weekend.

Wurtzel is straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Buddy Hull Runs 5.086/147.86, Now #9
Right Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.761/323.19, Now #2

Hull started mixing up the cylinders and the engine let go with a big fireball.

Hart coming off his win last weekend is straight down the groove and hooked up to go to the number two spot. Josh Hart's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.141, 660ft-3.018/287.84 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.747/325.14, Now #2
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 6.747/92.81, Now #11

Kalitta is skating around all the way down the track all the way down, but goes to the number two spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.835 sec., 330ft-2.118, 660ft-3.005/286.80 mph.

Millican is up in smoke early and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 11.560/73.67, Now #14
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.765/323.97, Now #4

Langdon is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Brown was straight down the groove to the number four spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.852 sec., 330ft-2.146, 660ft-3.025/288.95 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.652/327.74, Now #1
Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 6.680/104.23, Now #13

Salinas launched hard and kept it hooked up with the header flames high over the rear wing. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.816 sec., 330ft-2.069, 660ft-2.922/294.82 mph.

Pruett is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.717/330.96, Now #2
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.770/327.03, Now #7

Torrence kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.116, 660ft-2.987/290.94 mph.

Ashley is straight down the groove to the number seven spot. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.146, 660ft-3.032/287.72 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.702/328.30, Now #2
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 5.620/116.81, Now #16

Torrence with the candles lit all the way down the track to go to the number two spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.826 sec., 330ft-2.105, 660ft-2.971/291.76 mph.

Force is up in smoke early and clicked it off. This is the first qualifying session that Force wasn't the quickest since the second Brainerd qualifying session.
