CONCORD, N.C. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals:

Shields gets out of the gate but has traction problems. Dietrich started drifting to the left, gets close to the centerline around half-track, but is able to get it back to the right and hang on for the win.

A good side-by-side, both right down the groove. Michalek gets the advantage off of the line, stays in front to the 330 foot mark, then Meyer is able to go around and pull away for the win.

Nataas gets the holeshot and starts pulling away. McBride makes his quickest pass of the weekend, the quickest of his career, but he was falling behind all the way through the run.

Stalba goes down the groove with another good run and pulls away for the win.

Smith was having trouble from the start, then backed off the throttle around half track.

A good side-by-side, both down the groove with clean, straight passes.

Steele gets out of the gate first, Mercier reels him in and goes ahead. Steele is able to get back in front and take the holeshot win.

Nataas will have lane choice over Steele in the next round.

Severance gets off the line first and starts to pull away. Salinas starts to make up ground past the 330 foot mark, but Severance is able to hold her off and take the win.

Severance will have lane choice over Dietrich in the next round.
