CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run: Left Lane: David Barron No Time, Now #19; No Prior Run Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.049/191.67, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.243/185.31, Was #16 2:11 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 55 percent, barometer 30.08 inches, adjusted altitude 3,059 feet. Barron is still having problems. Much like yesterday, he leaves the line, gets about 100 feet out and the bike is out of power. He gets off the track before going through the lights and did not receive a time. Phillips makes a clean pass and moves up to the 12th spot for now. Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.097/192.71, Now #14; Best prior run: 11.740/69.07, Was #18 Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 6.998/191.29, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.220/189.95, Was #16 Underdahl had traction problems at the hit but recovered and made a decent pass. He improves and moves up to the 14th spot for now. Reed makes a good pass and moves into the field in the tenth spot for now. Left Lane: Ron Tornow Runs 7.222/187.03, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.478/144.97, Was #18 Right Lane: Charles Poskey Runs 7.172/188.81, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.204/189.82, Was #17 Tornow makes a clean pass and improves but not enough to get in the field. Poskey had problems off the line, recovered, but he doesn't improve enough to move into the field. Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.027/193.38, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.104/187.86, Was #16 Right Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 7.008/191.32, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.034/189.82, Was #12 Oehler goes down the groove with a good pass. He improves and gets off of the bump spot and into 13th. Salinas improves and moves up a spot to 11th. Left Lane: Kelly Clontz No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.011/191.24, Was #12 Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.890/195.90, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.956/193.32, Was #9 Clontz starts drifting to the right, tries to get it back to the left, but takes out the timing blocks at 1000 feet. Stoffer goes right down the groove with an impressive pass for the conditions and she moves up to the fourth spot. This is Clontz' first centerline violation and it will cost her five points. Left Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.883/195.05, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.929/194.21, Was #7 Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.298/194.55, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.956/195.19, Was #9 Gladstone goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far and moves up to the fourth spot for now. Hines bike bogged off of the line, a 1.297 sixty foot time, and he never really made a good move. Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.936/195.70, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.911/196.50, Was #6 Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.901/197.33, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.951/196.22, Was #8 Krawiec goes down the groove with a good pass and moves up to the sixth spot. Smith makes a decent pass but doesn't improve. She drops a spot in the order as Krawiec goes around her. Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.263/147.71, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.852/197.42, Was #3 Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.014/193.96, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.923/192.96, Was #8 Smith was on a good pass but sat up on the bike about 1000 feet out, not sure why. Pollacheck makes a clean pass but slowed from his attempt yesterday. Left Lane: Angelle Sampey No Time, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.848/195.05, Was #2 Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.788/197.74, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.807/196.47, Was #1 Sampey left before the tree was activated and did not receive a time. Johnson goes down the groove with another impressive pass and he collects another three points. Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.050 sec., 330ft-2.831, 660ft-4.336/163.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.655.
