Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Charles Poskey Runs 7.204/189.82, Now #1

6:12 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 30.06 inches, adjusted altitude 2,863 feet.

Poskey bogged a little off of the line but makes a decent pass to start the session.

Left Lane: Ron Tornow Runs 7.478/144.97, Now #3
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 7.100/175.78, Now #1

Tornow gets close toi the centerline near the end of the run and has to back off of the throttle. Bostick makes a clean pass to take the top spot for now.

Left Lane: David Barron No Time, Now #5
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.243/185.31, Now #3

Barron bounces off of the line and then loses power about 200 feet out. He makes the early turn off and does not receive a time. Phillips makes a clean pass and gets in the third spot for now.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.011/191.24, Now #1
Right Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 7.034/189.82, Now #2

Clontz goes down the groove with a clean pass and takes the top spot for now. Salinas makes a good pass to get in the third spot for now.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 11.740/69.07, Now #8
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.956/195.19, Now #1

Hines bogs a little off of the line but he still makes the first pass in the 6's to take the pole for now. Underdahl gets about 300 feet out and the bike noses over, not sure why.

Left Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.929/194.21, Now #1
Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 7.220/189.95, Now #7

Gladstone makes a good pass and gets in the top spot for now. Reed had problems off of the line but is able to get in the seventh spot.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.104/187.86, Now #7
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.956/193.32, Now #3

Stoffer makes a good pass and gets in the third spot for now. Oehler stayed with her for the first sixty feet, then started falling back.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.911/196.50, Now #1
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.923/192.96, Now #2

Smith goes down the groove with a good run to take the top spot for now. Pollacheck is right behind and gets in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.848/195.05, Now #1
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.951/196.22, Now #5

Sampey goes down the groove with an impressive pass to take the top spot. Krawiec bogs a little off of the line but recovers and gets in the fifth spot for now.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.852/197.42, Now #3
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.807/196.47, Now #1

Johnson makes a great pass here and the points leader adds another three to his total. Smith makes a decent pass but was falling behind all the way through the run.
