Top Alcohol Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #2

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Bill Naves Runs 6.854/203.46, Now #9; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 30.07 inches, adjusted altitude 2,934 feet.

Naves didn't make a pass in the earlier session. Naves is making his second appearance on the National event tour, the other one was here in the spring.

He clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.568/263.31, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.548/263.72, Was #4
Right Lane: Kris Hool Runs 5.607/261.88, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.630/261.93, Was #6

Januik with another good looking pass, but will not improve.

Hool is straight down the groove to move up on the ladder one spot.

Left Lane: DJ Cox Jr. Runs 5.515/264.91, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.536/264.70, Was #3
Right Lane: Brian Gawlik Runs 13.708/69.77, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.625/258.52, Was #6

Cox Jr. launched hard and kept it hooked up to make a good looking pass. He improves, but will stay in the number three spot. DJ Cox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.470, 660ft-3.654/210.54 mph, 1,000ft-4.664.

Gawlik with severe tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 15.129/76.01, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.506/264.18, Was #2
Right Lane: Bob McCosh Runs 5.543/265.43, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.505/265.95, Was #1

Bellemeur with severe tire shake and clicks it off.

McCosh is straight down the groove with another good looking pass, but will not improve on pass from earlier.
