CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run: Right Lane: Melinda Green-King Runs 6.016/245.99, Now #1 Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 74 percent, barometer 30.12 inches, adjusted altitude 2,711 feet. Green-King is making her first appearance at a National event since this event in 2017. she launches and the car starts to drift out of the groove toward the wall, but she stays with it. Right Lane: Joshua Haskett Runs 6.482/173.87, Now #2 Haskett is making his second National event appearance this season. He launches and starts to shake, he pedals. but starts to shake again and clicks it off. Left Lane: Brian Gawlik Runs 5.625/258.52, Now #2 Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.548/263.72, Now #1 Gawlik is straight down the groove. Januik with a little wiggle around half track, but stays with it. Left Lane: Kris Hool Runs 5.630/261.93, Now #4 Right Lane: DJ Cox Jr. Runs 5.536/264.70, Now #1 Hool with a clean pass to start the weekend. Cox Jr. kept it hooked up and straight down the groove to go to the number one spot. Left Lane: Bob McCosh Runs 5.505/265.95, Now #1 Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.506/264.18, Now #2 This is a good side-by-side drag race to wrap up round one of qualifying as these two go to the top of the list. McCosh had it hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Bob McCosh's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.475, 660ft-3.655/211.63 mph, 1,000ft-4.659. Bellemeur is right there with him. Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.942 sec., 330ft-2.463, 660ft-3.645/210.54 mph, 1,000ft-4.654.
