MOHNTON, Pa. - For the first time in more than six years, Cruz Pedregon is the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car, as the veteran claimed the top spot on Saturday to close out qualifying at the 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Maple Grove Raceway. Brittany Force (Top Fuel), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also qualified No. 1 at the 14th of 20 races during the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season and the first race in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
Funny Car No. 1 qualifier Cruz Pedregon drove his Snap-on Tools Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car to a 3.875 second pass at 326.00 mph. Funny Car's Cruz Pedregon picked up his first No. 1 qualifier since 2015 when he took his Dodge Charger to a 3.875-second lap at 326.00 at the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil.
Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier Brittany Force drove her Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy Top Fuel dragster to a 3.660 second pass at 334.07 mph. Brittany Force powered her Top Fuel dragster to yet another No. 1 qualifier position when she went 3.660-seconds at 334.07 mph to conclude qualifying at the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil and pick up her nineth No. 1 of the season.
Pro Stock No. 1 qualifier Erica Ender drove her Melling Performance/Elite Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.524 seconds pass at 209.85 mph. Reigning Pro Stock champion Erica Enders powered her Camaro to the top of the field when she went 6.524-seconds at 209.85 mph to claim the No. 1 qualifier position at Maple Grove Raceway.
Pro Stock Motorcycle No. 1 qualifier Angelle Sampey rode her Mission Foods Vance & Hines Suzuki to a 6.745 second pass at 196.64 mph. Pro Stock Motorcycle's Angelle Sampey laid down a solid 6.755-second pass at 197.65 mph to seed her No. 1 for Sunday's race day at the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil.
