Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #2

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Cory Lee Runs 4.385/275.73, Now #11; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 67 percent, barometer 30.21 inches, adjusted altitude 1,712 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

Lee is straight down the groove, it appears like he clicked it off early. He gets in the show up to the number 11 spot.

Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.132/252.00, Now #11; Best prior run: 9.838/75.83, Was #13
Right Lane: Jim Campbell Runs 4.093/310.20, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.113/292.27, Was #10

Lee was on a good pass until around half track when it appeared to start using up the engine. He is off the throttle early, he still goes to the number 11 spot.

Campbell is straight down the groove with a clean pass. He improves on his run from yesterday, but will stay in the number 10 spot. Jim Campbell's incremental times: 60ft-0.920 sec., 330ft-2.341, 660ft-3.308/266.79 mph.

Left Lane: John Force Runs 4.907/164.81, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.880/92.36, Was #13
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 4.415/197.86, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.940/327.98, Was #7

Force is up in smoke early and clicks it off.

DeJoria also starts to lose traction just past half track, she clicks it off.

Left Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 4.090/249.21, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.036/308.50, Was #9
Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 7.392/90.28, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.932/290.82, Was #6

Alexander was on a good looking pass, until he starts to lose traction and he clicks it off.

Wilkerson lost traction early and he clicked it off.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.970/327.98, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.956/328.38, Was #8
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.896/328.86, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.932/325.06, Was #5

This was on a good looking pass, the two quickest passes of the day.

Todd was straight down the groove. He will not improve, but has the second quickest pass of the session. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.900 sec., 330ft-2.284, 660ft-3.220/277.72 mph.

Capps launched hard and kept it hooked up all the way down the track to make the quickest pass of the session. He moves the ladder a couple spots. Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.871 sec., 330ft-2.240, 660ft-3.158/283.37 mph.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 3.912/327.03, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.914/321.42, Was #5
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.931/329.50, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.913/328.22, Was #4

Pedregon with a good looking pass, his quickest of the event. This is Pedregon's quickest pass and he moves up the ladder one spot. Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.879 sec., 330ft-2.242, 660ft-3.166/280.31 mph.

Tasca with the third quickest pass of the session. He will not improve, but has a god looking pass.

Left Lane: Robert Hight Runs 5.068/149.55, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.883/330.39, Was #1
Right Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 4.426/187.65, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.895/333.82, Was #2

Hight is up in smoke early and clicks it off.

Johnson is also up in smoke early and clicks it off.
