Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 5.205/281.54, Now #2; Best prior run: 8.670/88.22, Was #12
Right Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 5.923/211.79, Now #11; No Prior Run

Salinas launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Jasmine Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.413, 660ft-3.503/231.16 mph, 1,000ft-4.418.

Horner clicks it off early.

Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.242/272.23, Now #6; Best prior run: 9.670/119.96, Was #14

Shields kept it hooked up all the way down the track to get into the top half of the show. Duane Shields' incremental times: 60ft-0.949 sec., 330ft-2.421, 660ft-3.511/229.70 mph, 1,000ft-4.440.

Left Lane: Mike Hepp Runs 5.449/264.96, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.480/264.44, Was #10
Right Lane: Mike Kosky No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.219/114.85, Was #14

Hepp is straight down the groove with his career quickest and fastest pass. Mike Hepp's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.441, 660ft-3.604/212.90 mph, 1,000ft-4.602.

Kosky starts to drift out of the groove and collect the centerline cones.

Left Lane: Dan Page Runs 5.285/274.94, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.316/271.68, Was #8
Right Lane: Dan Dietrich Runs 7.421/103.59, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.935/131.65, Was #13

Page with a good looking pass, stright down the groove with his quickest and fastest pass of the season. Dan Page's incremental times: 60ft-0.928 sec., 330ft-2.406, 660ft-3.529/223.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.475.

Dietrich lost traction early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Tom Fox Jr. Runs 5.320/269.94, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.296/271.41, Was #8
Right Lane: Earl Nichols Jr. Runs 5.341/271.52, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.427/274.05, Was #9

Fox Jr. with a clean pass, but he will not improve. Tom Fox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.943 sec., 330ft-2.392, 660ft-3.518/216.69 mph, 1,000ft-4.489.

Nichols is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. Earl Nichols Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.476, 660ft-3.590/223.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.531.

Left Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.184/277.09, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.216/274.44, Was #3
Right Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.196/277.09, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.234/280.37, Was #5

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Samsel launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. He ties his career best E.T. on this pass. Robin Samsel's incremental times: 60ft-0.917 sec., 330ft-2.362, 660ft-3.452/229.90 mph, 1,000ft-4.380.

Fricke is right there with him with her quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number three spot. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.400, 660ft-3.481/232.35 mph, 1,000ft-4.399.

Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 5.187/279.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.181/258.32, Was #1
Right Lane: Karen Stalba Runs 5.203/280.49, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.217/283.73, Was #5

Cummings with another great pass, the second quickest pass of this session. He will hold on to the number one qualifying spot for the third time in his career and the second this season. Matthew Cummings' incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.389, 660ft-3.470/231.56 mph, 1,000ft-4.391.

Stalba kept it hooked up and straight down the groove with her quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder to the number four spot. Karen Stalba's incremental times: 60ft-0.911 sec., 330ft-2.369, 660ft-3.475/226.92 mph, 1,000ft-4.406.
