Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Session #1

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Doug Foley Runs 3.856/297.55, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 29.98 inches, adjusted altitude 1,941 feet.

Foley is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Joe Morrison Runs 4.167/223.84, Now #3
Right Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.793/323.81, Now #1

Morrison clicked it off early.

Hart launched hard and kept it hooked up with a good looking pass. Josh Hart's incremental times: 60ft-0.855 sec., 330ft-2.158, 660ft-3.045/284.62 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.833/319.67, Now #3
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.696/322.65, Now #1

Kalitta is stright down the groove with a good clean pass. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.084/285.05 mph.

Millican launched hard and kept it hitting on ll eight to make his quickest pass of the season. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.821 sec., 330ft-2.087, 660ft-2.957/290.44 mph.

Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.699/327.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.729/327.74, Now #3

Torrence with a great looking pass, kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.828 sec., 330ft-2.103, 660ft-2.967/292.33 mph.

Ashley was right there with him to the number three spot. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.117, 660ft-2.993/289.20 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.699/332.18, Now #2
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.870/147.70, Now #9

Salinas with a great pass, his quickest and fastest pass of the season to go to the number two spot. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.829 sec., 330ft-2.106, 660ft-2.971/291.38 mph.

Langdon started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.733/323.89, Now #5
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.871/302.14, Now #9

Pruett with a good pass to start the weekend. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.835 sec., 330ft-2.110, 660ft-2.988/287.11 mph.

Brown had it hooked up all the way down the groove. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.184, 660ft-3.100/278.35 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.666/335.57, Now #1
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.692/327.19, Now #2

Force finished second in the regular season. Force launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.819 sec., 330ft-2.087, 660ft-2.948/296.05 mph.

Torrence is the regular season champion. Torrence is right there with her to the number two spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.820 sec., 330ft-2.093, 660ft-2.960/292.14 mph.
