MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run: Right Lane: Cory Lee No Time, Now #1 Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 29.98 inches, adjusted altitude 1,941 feet. Lee is driving the New Englander and he was on a good looking pass. The car started to drift out of the groove and over by the wall. the car tagged the wall on the top end so that runs is Dq'ed. Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 9.838/75.83, Now #2 Right Lane: Jim Campbell Runs 4.113/292.27, Now #1 Lee is up in smoke right at the hit. Campbell was on a good pass, but his car started to drift out of the groove and he clicked it off. Left Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 4.036/308.50, Now #2 Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 3.932/290.82, Now #1 Alexander with a good clean pass to start the weekend. Wilkerson the Indy winner and his first win in five years is on a good pass. He clicked it off early, but goes to the top. Tim Wilkerson's incremental times: 60ft-0.885 sec., 330ft-2.257, 660ft-3.159/286.38 mph. Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 3.914/321.42, Now #1 Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 3.940/327.98, Now #3 A couple good looking passes. Pedregon is straight down the groove with a good looking pass to start the weekend. Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.871 sec., 330ft-2.236, 660ft-3.161/278.29 mph. DeJoria kept it hooked up with a good looking pass. Alexis DeJoria's incremental times: 60ft-0.891 sec., 330ft-2.261, 660ft-3.191/278.12 mph. Left Lane: Robert Hight Runs 3.883/330.39, Now #1 Right Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 3.895/333.82, Now #2 This is a great side-by-side drag race. Hight launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Robert Hight's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.239, 660ft-3.144/284.27 mph. Johnson is still in the car for Hagan (who is still out because of COVID 19) He is right there with hight to the number two spot. Tommy Johnson Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.245, 660ft-3.162/285.05 mph. Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.956/328.38, Now #7 Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.913/328.22, Now #3 Todd with a good clean pass...J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.889 sec., 330ft-2.277, 660ft-3.209/278.63 mph. Tasca III kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Bob Tasca III's incremental times: 60ft-0.871 sec., 330ft-2.239, 660ft-3.168/279.38 mph. Left Lane: John Force Runs 6.880/92.36, Now #11 Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.932/325.06, Now #5 Force is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicks it off. Capps was the regular season champion. He is stright down the groove to go to the number five spot. Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.257, 660ft-3.186/281.01 mph.
