Top Alcohol Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #2

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Dan Pomponio Runs 8.919/99.88, Now #8; Best prior run: 8.565/105.16, Was #8
Right Lane: Brian Gawlik Runs 5.557/262.03, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.617/260.21, Was #6

Pomponio with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Gawlik launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his career quickest and fastest pass. He will stay in the number six spot. Brian Gawlik's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.483, 660ft-3.679/206.61 mph, 1,000ft-4.698.

Left Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 16.041/74.84, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.449/268.76, Was #1
Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 8.729/103.20, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.489/266.69, Was #5

Gordon was up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Januik drove into tire shake and shut it off.

Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.481/259.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.464/266.00, Was #2

Bellemeur with another great pass, but will not improve. Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.457, 660ft-3.623/211.86 mph, 1,000ft-4.622.

Left Lane: DJ Cox Jr. Runs 5.455/269.46, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.487/269.13, Was #4
Right Lane: Mathew Gill Runs 5.493/270.27, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.471/271.30, Was #3

This is the final round from the rain-delayed Epping regional event from earlier this year.

Cox Jr. launched hard and kept it hooked up to move up the ladder a couple spots. DJ Cox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.952 sec., 330ft-2.459, 660ft-3.628/211.79 mph, 1,000ft-4.619. He also got the win.

Gill with another great pass, but will not improve. He has the third quickest pass of this round. Mathew Gill's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.493, 660ft-3.667/211.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.659.
