Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Final Session

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 67th annual Dodge//SRT NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.162/280.72, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.265/271.57, Was #6
Right Lane: Aaron Cooper Runs 6.124/222.07, Now #20; Best prior run: 5.747/231.71, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 55 percent, barometer 30.11 inches, adjusted altitude 2,499 feet.

The first four pairs were in the JEGS Allstars...

Nataas launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Julie Nataas' incremental times: 60ft-0.950 sec., 330ft-2.393, 660ft-3.466/234.17 mph, 1,000ft-4.373.

Cooper is up in smoke right at the hit.

Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.244/277.09, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.277/277.83, Was #7
Right Lane: Joey Severance Runs 14.693/47.38, Now #19; Best prior run: 5.747/264.65, Was #19

Fricke kept it hooked up to make her quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder one spot. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.426, 660ft-3.517/230.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.441.

Severance shook right at the hit and banged it...there is parts and pieces on the track.

Left Lane: Mike Bucher Runs 5.883/232.83, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.293/271.52, Was #9
Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 10.821/89.79, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.404/275.00, Was #12

Bucher started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Shields lost traction right at the hit, he pedaled it, but could get it to hook up and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 21.508/55.63, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.209/277.72, Was #4
Right Lane: James Stevens Runs 5.336/268.97, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.658/151.34, Was #21

Cowie is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Stevens was straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. James Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.925 sec., 330ft-2.377, 660ft-3.518/216.24 mph, 1,000ft-4.501.

Steele is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Dreher with a good, clean pass to move up the ladder one spot.

Anderson is straight down the groove with her quickest pass of the weekend, but she will not get in the show.

Collier is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Corey Michalek Runs 5.297/277.66, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.290/278.06, Was #8

Smith is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will not get in the show.

Michalek with another great pass, he will not improve, but has been consistent all weekend. Corey Michalek's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.465, 660ft-3.570/226.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.498.

Left Lane: Megan Smith Runs 5.720/265.43, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.539/265.01, Was #17
Right Lane: Rachel Meyer Runs 5.256/278.52, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.249/273.00, Was #7

Smith with a clean pass, but will not get in the show.

Meyer is stright down the groove with the third quickest pass of this session. Rachel Meyer's incremental times: 60ft-0.967 sec., 330ft-2.440, 660ft-3.535/228.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.460.

Left Lane: Steve Griboski Runs 5.448/262.85, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.523/257.97, Was #16
Right Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 12.633/56.87, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.206/281.01, Was #3

Griboski launched hard and kept it hooked up with his quickest nd fastest pass of the weekend to get off the bump spot. Steve Griboski's incremental times: 60ft-0.929 sec., 330ft-2.423, 660ft-3.595/211.39 mph, 1,000ft-4.596.

Salinas is up in smoke right at the hit nd clicks it off.

Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 5.687/247.93, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.214/276.69, Was #5
Right Lane: Karen Stalba Runs 5.230/277.20, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.188/279.15, Was #2

Cummings started to haze the tires and then drop cylinders before he clicked it off.

Stalba launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the second quickest pass of the session. Karen Stalba's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.395, 660ft-3.499/227.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.430.

Nataas will hold on to the number one spot for the fifth time in her career and first this season.
