Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #1

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 67th annual Dodge//SRT NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Steve Collier Runs 5.384/265.95, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 30.09 inches, adjusted altitude 2,442 feet.

Collier is at his first National event since 2019 Dallas event. He is straight down the groove with a good looking pass. Steve Collier's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.475, 660ft-3.597/223.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.551.

Left Lane: Steve Griboski Runs 5.523/257.97, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Bucher Runs 5.293/271.52, Now #1

Griboski is making his first pass this season. He is straight down the groove. Steve Griboski's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.435, 660ft-3.625/206.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.652.

Bucher is making his first National event appearance since Indy 2019. Bucher launched hard and kept it hooked up with a great looking pass. Mike Bucher's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.447, 660ft-3.542/228.38 mph, 1,000ft-4.476.

Left Lane: Marina Anderson Runs 5.822/242.84, Now #5
Right Lane: Corey Michalek Runs 5.290/278.06, Now #1

Anderson clicked it off early.

Michalek was straight down the groove hitting on all eight and makes his career quickest pass to go to the number one spot. Corey Michalek's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.463, 660ft-3.558/228.92 mph, 1,000ft-4.488.

Left Lane: Megan Smith Runs 5.659/262.85, Now #5
Right Lane: Mitch Myers Runs 7.800/148.02, Now #7

Smith with a clean pass.

Myers is up in smoke right at the hit and pedals it.

Left Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 5.473/253.80, Now #4
Right Lane: Aaron Cooper Runs 20.396/35.35, Now #9

Dreher was straight down the groove with a good pass to start the weekend.

Cooper is up in smoke right at the hit.

Left Lane: Will Smith Runs 5.601/261.88, Now #6

smith with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 5.235/275.96, Now #1
Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 12.848/96.92, Now #11

Cummings launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot with a great pass. Matthew Cummings' incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.406, 660ft-3.498/229.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.429.

Shields is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Stevens with tire shake and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 9.976/69.41, Now #13

Severance with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.344/275.84, Now #6

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Nataas launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Julie Nataas' incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.428, 660ft-3.526/228.89 mph, 1,000ft-4.453.

Fricke was straight down the groove with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.510, 660ft-3.609/229.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.537.

Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.209/277.72, Now #1
Right Lane: Rachel Meyer Runs 5.277/276.52, Now #4

Cowie launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Shawn Cowie's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.346, 660ft-3.454/223.28 mph, 1,000ft-4.401.

Meyers with a great pass to start the weekend as she is straight down the groove to the number four spot. Rachel Meyer's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.435, 660ft-3.540/227.27 mph, 1,000ft-4.472.
