Competition Eliminator Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 20th annual Dodge NHRA Finals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:

Left Lane: Art Hodges Runs 7.360/184.02/-0.590, Now #2 C/A Index: 7.95
Right Lane: Scott McClay Runs 7.305/180.45/-0.605, Now #1 C/ED Index: 7.91

We start qualifying with a couple good clean passes.

Left Lane: David Nickens No Time, Now #4 B/AA Index: 7.71
Right Lane: Doug Engels Runs 7.258/182.90/-0.672, Now #1 D/D Index: 7.93

Nickens's car doesn't move when the light turns green.

Engels is straight down the groove with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Ed Federkeil Jr Runs 7.090/196.27/-0.590, Now #4 B/AA Index: 7.68
Right Lane: John Edwards Runs 7.415/184.45/-0.555, Now #5 C/AA Index: 7.97

Both cars straight and true with nice passes.

Left Lane: Ralph Van Paepeghem Runs 7.410/177.49/-0.500, Now #7 A/EA Index: 7.91
Right Lane: Taylor Chomiski Runs 7.763/173.54/-0.647, Now #2 D/A Index: 8.41

Van Paepeghem with a good clean pass.

Chomiski with a great pass to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Don Bevers Runs 8.386/158.78/-0.264, Now #9 A/SMA Index: 8.65
Right Lane: Clint Neff Runs 7.554/173.05/-0.656, Now #2 K/AA Index: 8.21

Neff with a great pass, straight down the groove to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Joe Mozeris Runs 6.938/189.73/-0.622, Now #4 B/ED Index: 7.56
Right Lane: Ryan Warter Runs 8.819/151.49/-0.461, Now #10 F/SM Index: 9.28

Mozeris with a nice pass to the number four spot.

Water with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Cody Lane Runs 9.846/77.43/0.756, Now #13 B/SMA Index: 9.09
Right Lane: Doug Lambeck Runs 8.456/153.20/-0.604, Now #6 D/SMA Index: 9.06

Lane with problems right at the hit and clicks it off.

Lambeck to the number six spot.
