Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 33rd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.655/189.52, Now #1
Right Lane: David Barron Runs 15.035/48.32, Now #2

Phillips clicked it off early...

Barron shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.913/176.97, Now #1

Ingwersen broke and was pushed off the starting line.

Hall clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.019/191.65, Now #2
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 8.952/96.10, Now #4

Clontz is straight down the groove.

Bostick clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.980/188.07, Now #3
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.857/193.21, Now #1

Arana Jr. with a good clean pass.

Savoie launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.057 sec., 330ft-2.837, 660ft-4.358/160.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.700.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.935/190.46, Now #4
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.808/197.08, Now #1

Johnson with a good pass to go to the number four spot.

Oehler was strong through the middle of the track to go to the number one spot. Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.069 sec., 330ft-2.840, 660ft-4.348/162.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.673.

He sets the track E.T. record.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.859/198.23, Now #3
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.902/197.42, Now #4

Smith is straight down the groove and she sets the track mph record. Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.093 sec., 330ft-2.912, 660ft-4.414/163.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.730.

Krawiec goes to the number four spot. Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.110 sec., 330ft-2.926, 660ft-4.443/161.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.769.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.488/135.92, Now #10
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.881/195.51, Now #4

Sampey with problems and clicked it off early.

Hines with a nice pass to go to the number four spot. Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.095 sec., 330ft-2.885, 660ft-4.399/160.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.737.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.900/197.36, Now #5
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 9.674/109.52, Now #14

Pollacheck with a good pass to go to the number five spot. Scotty Pollacheck's incremental times: 60ft-1.085 sec., 330ft-2.921, 660ft-4.444/161.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.767.

Smith with problems as soon as the light turned green.
