Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Final Session

BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 33rd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: David Sheetz Runs 12.098/57.51, Now #10; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 12.317/64.67, Now #11; No Prior Run

Sheetz with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Brounkowski shook and the car was sideways before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.490/274.16, Now #7; Best prior run: 10.712/64.23, Was #9
Right Lane: James Stevens Runs 5.311/272.78, Now #3; Best prior run: 17.998/115.29, Was #12

Nataas started to lose traction and pedaled it, she got it to hook up and moves up the ladder a couple spots. Julie Nataas' incremental times: 60ft-0.907 sec., 330ft-2.551, 660ft-3.722/219.54 mph, 1,000ft-4.674.

Stevens was straight down the groove with a great pass to go to the number three spot. James Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.904 sec., 330ft-2.373, 660ft-3.510/218.30 mph, 1,000ft-4.486.

Left Lane: Buddy Domingue Runs 5.544/260.81, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.523/260.71, Was #8
Right Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 7.927/108.01, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.615/202.39, Was #9

Domingue started to lose traction d pedaled it, he got it to hook up. He will not improve. Buddy Domingue's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.558, 660ft-3.716/217.39 mph, 1,000ft-4.692.

Cummings started to chatter the tires and pedaled it a couple times, but never got it to hook up.

Left Lane: Aaron Cooper Runs 5.270/272.78, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.311/271.84, Was #4
Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 18.991/65.14, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.416/273.39, Was #6

Cooper launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Aaron Cooper's incremental times: 60ft-0.915 sec., 330ft-2.395, 660ft-3.505/225.18 mph, 1,000ft-4.452.

Massey with severe tire shake right the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 11.653/69.15, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.255/276.41, Was #1
Right Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.896/165.36, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.349/239.61, Was #5

Fricke shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Cowie with problems on the top end and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.366/222.47, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.284/277.15, Was #3

Shields launched hard and was on a good pass, but clicked it off early.
