Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 35th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.727/317.49, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.528/166.46, Was #10
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.761/313.95, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.073/140.65, Was #12

This is a good side-by-side race for the Kalitta team.

Langdon is straight down the groove to the number four spot. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.106, 660ft-2.977/289.82 mph.

Kalitta is right there with his to go to the number six spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.104, 660ft-2.998/281.71 mph.

Left Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.732/318.77, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.104/203.92, Was #9
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.765/323.50, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.415/178.10, Was #11

Pruett kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to move into the top half of the show. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.827 sec., 330ft-2.104, 660ft-2.983/289.26 mph.

Brown stright down the groove to the number eight spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.150, 660ft-3.024/290.82 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.662/327.51, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.717/326.32, Was #3
Right Lane: Kebin Kinsley Runs 3.948/303.78, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.111/224.10, Was #11

Torrence launched hard and kept it hitting all eight all the way down the track to go to the number one spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.804 sec., 330ft-2.075, 660ft-2.932/293.66 mph.

Kinsley makes his quickest pass, but will stay in the number 11 spot.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.726/313.00, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.700/326.87, Was #3
Right Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 7.115/94.84, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.768/327.66, Was #9

Schumacher with another good pass, but he will not improve. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.096, 660ft-2.965/288.95 mph.

Torrence started to lose traction right at the hit, he pedaled it, but couldn't get it to hook up. He will stay in the number nine spot.

Left Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.802/260.46, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.687/323.04, Was #2
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.801/310.20, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.741/322.19, Was #6

Ashley was on a great looking pass, then the engine let go with a big fireball. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.821 sec., 330ft-2.094, 660ft-2.964/284.87 mph. The word is there is oil. Justin Ashley was charged with an oildown, #2 for the season. That will cost 10 points.

Millican with a clean pass, but he will not improve. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.142, 660ft-3.034/281.25 mph.
