Competition Eliminator Qualifying Notes, Session #1

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 35th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:

Left Lane: Daniel Leibham Runs 11.628/75.39/4.458, Now #2 B/A Index: 7.17
Right Lane: David Nickens Runs 7.095/195.56/-0.525, Now #1 C/A Index: 7.62

Leibham left before the third amber light.

Nickens car didn't move when the light turned green and then he finally took off with a nice pass.

Left Lane: John Clegg Runs 6.875/207.85/-0.675, Now #1 CC/A Index: 7.55
Right Lane: Adam Hickey Runs 6.846/191.19/-0.534, Now #2 C/SMA Index: 7.38

Clegg launched hard and kept it hooked up and makes a great pass.

Hickey with a good looking pass to start the weekend.

Left Lane: Joey Tanksley Runs 6.846/194.77/-0.634, Now #2 C/D Index: 7.48
Right Lane: Scott Cashio Runs 10.070/118.16/0.850, Now #5 D/SMA Index: 9.22

Tanksley is straight down the groove with a good looking pass.

Cashio has problems right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Brad Plourd Runs 6.325/174.84/-0.615, Now #3 AA/AM Index: 6.94
Right Lane: Justin Hutto Runs 6.948/188.94/-0.452, Now #6 B/DA Index: 7.40

Plourd with a good looking pass.

Hutto with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Dennis Smiley Runs 6.806/199.76/-0.474, Now #7 A/ED Index: 7.28
Right Lane: Jarrod Granier Runs 8.450/161.79/-0.550, Now #4 E/SM Index: 9.00

Smiley is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Grainer with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Chase Williams Runs 7.771/114.07/0.211, Now #10 B/DA Index: 7.56
Right Lane: Ed Federkeil Jr Runs 7.118/198.38/-0.472, Now #8 B/AA Index: 7.59

Williams clicked it off early.

Federkeil Jr. with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Clint Neff No Time, Now #14 K/AA Index: 8.10
Right Lane: Bill Kent Runs 6.782/194.13/-0.648, Now #2 B/D Index: 7.43

Neff after the burnout the car started smoking, he went ahead and staged the car and took the green light.

Kent launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Keith Mawhee Runs 7.724/176.26/-0.546, Now #7 D/A Index: 8.27
Right Lane: Clark Smiley Runs 7.251/185.82/-0.649, Now #2 BB/A Index: 7.90

Mawhee with a good clean pass.

Smiley with a great pass to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Taylor Chomiski Runs 8.232/128.53/-0.068, Now #14 D/A Index: 8.30
Right Lane: Keith Hall Runs 8.278/164.29/-0.722, Now #1 G/A Index: 9.00

Chomiski clicked it off early.

Kent Hall kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Jim Kimbrough Runs 7.529/181.98/-0.371, Now #15 C/ED Index: 7.90
Right Lane: Sean Dodd Runs 8.075/148.95/-0.625, Now #6 C/EA Index: 8.70

Kimbrough with a clean pass.

Dodd is straight down the groove with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Frank Aragona Runs 7.425/177.58/-0.605, Now #8 J/AA Index: 8.03
Right Lane: Art Hodges Runs 8.465/111.58/0.615, Now #19 C/A Index: 7.85

Aragona is straight down the groove with a nice pass.

Hodges clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Troy Galbraith Runs 24.963/60.73/17.663, Now #22 B/DA Index: 7.30
Right Lane: Doug Engels No Time, Now #24 D/DA Index: 7.84

Galbraith with problems right at the hit and clicked it off.

Engels rolled the beam and he won't get a time.

Right Lane: Craig Bourgeois Runs 6.798/189.31/-0.622, Now #7 A/ND Index: 7.42

Bourgeois makes a slight move toward the wall, but he reels it in. He then clicks it off early but still has a nice pass.
