Mountain Motor Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #1

MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Mountain Motor Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, ninth annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Elijah Morton Sr Runs 6.392/224.06, Now #2
Right Lane: John DeFlorian Jr Runs 6.267/225.67, Now #1

Morton made a quick move toward the wall, but he stayed with it.

DeFlorian launched and was drifting out of the groove on the top end, but stayed with it.

Left Lane: Larry O'Brien Runs 6.644/221.92, Now #4
Right Lane: Trevor Eman Runs 6.238/223.76, Now #1

O'Brien made a move toward the centerline, but stayed with it.

Eman with a great looking pass.

Left Lane: Mike Bell Runs 12.502/97.83, Now #6
Right Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.179/228.23, Now #1

Bell shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Carr launched hard and makes the quickest pass in the history of Mountain Motor Pro Stock. He has a big top end speed. JR Carr's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.654, 660ft-4.021/180.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.191.

Left Lane: Dwayne Rice Runs 13.709/78.64, Now #8
Right Lane: Brad Waddle Runs 6.303/224.40, Now #4

Rice with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Waddle is real loose, but stays with it.
