EPPING, N.H. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northeast Division, event at New England Dragway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Brian Gawlik Runs 5.721/253.33, Now #1

Gawlik with a clean pass to start the weekend.

Right Lane: Fred Tigges Runs 5.679/258.47, Now #1

Tigges is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Left Lane: Dan Pomponio Runs 8.765/103.71, Now #4
Right Lane: DJ Cox Jr. Runs 5.573/264.44, Now #1

Pomponio shook and clicked it off.

Cox Jr. kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. DJ Cox Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.518, 660ft-3.710/208.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.721.
