Top Fuel Harley Qualifying Notes, Session #2

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel Harley at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 36th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Tyler Wilson Runs 6.739/200.11, Now #2; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Tracy Kile Runs 6.620/212.19, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.843/197.28, Was #2

4:30 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 28.78 inches, adjusted altitude 3,126 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

No bump yet!

Much better! We finally get two bikes to the lights under power!

Kile only moves up one spot to number one, but runs a bunch quicker and faster.

Wilson broke before staging in the first session and gets a number this time and it is good enough for the #2 spot.

Tyler Wilson's incremental times: 60ft-1.173 sec., 330ft-3.004, 660ft-4.378/179.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.624.
Tracy Kile's incremental times: 60ft-1.151 sec., 330ft-2.930, 660ft-4.343/174.32 mph, 1,000ft-5.564.


Left Lane: Mike Scott Runs 15.452/48.99, Now #7; Best prior run: 10.974/78.09, Was #7
Right Lane: Rich Vreeland Runs 11.349/94.01, Now #8; Best prior run: 18.257/60.53, Was #8

Rich Vreeland is on the bump spot at 18.257.

Two broken runs. Vreeland picks up about seven seconds to stay #8.

Scott is quick to near the 330 lights and then coasts on down.

Left Lane: Randal Andras Runs 6.297/222.62, Now #1; Best prior run: 10.853/91.43, Was #6
Right Lane: Tii Tharpe Runs 6.764/181.91, Now #4; Best prior run: 10.618/86.64, Was #5

Andras shows his Pomona tune up this time and makes a big statement to the rest of the field with a decisive pass to number one!

Tharpe runs straight behind him for a while, but slows on the top end.

Randal Andras' incremental times: 60ft-1.094 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.171/187.96 mph, 1,000ft-5.307.
Tii Tharpe's incremental times: 60ft-1.131 sec., 330ft-2.939, 660ft-4.360/174.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.597.

Left Lane: Jay Turner Runs 6.951/148.85, Now #6; Best prior run: 8.218/150.85, Was #6
Right Lane: Rickey House Runs 6.320/222.62, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.989/215.79, Was #5

Quickest and fastest pass of the year for House by a bunch, but he can't quite match Andras' ET. Nice clean pass to equal his speed.

Turner gets a strong half track plus pass to stay number six

Jay Turner's incremental times: 60ft-1.082 sec., 330ft-2.773, 660ft-4.113/177.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.505.
Rickey House's incremental times: 60ft-1.109 sec., 330ft-2.831, 660ft-4.164/186.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.316.

4:38 p.m. Randal Andras is number one with a 6.296 and Rich Vreeland is on the bump spot at 11.349.
