Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 60th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.680/330.72, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.361/195.03, Was #13
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 9.053/75.35, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.780/322.42, Was #8

Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 39 percent, barometer 28.78 inches, adjusted altitude 2,551 feet, track temperature 92 degrees.

Prock launched hard and kept it hooked up, hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. This is his first full pass of the weekend after struggling early in the weekend. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-3.183, 660ft-6.079/079.97 mph.

Brown is dropping cylinders right at the hit and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.750/326.24, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.748/322.58, Was #7

McMillen is straight down the groove with another consistent run, making three passes in the 3.75 zone. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.138, 660ft-3.012/288.46 mph.

Left Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.967/236.01, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.094/214.96, Was #12
Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.775/322.73, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.735/328.86, Was #6

Ashley started to haze the tires and drop cylinders before he clicks it off.

Reed was on a good looking until right in the light when the engine let go with a huge fireball. He still make a good pass, but will not improve...the word from the top end is there is oil. Shawn Reed was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5 points.

Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.717/330.39, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.726/325.30, Was #5

Kalitta was straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number five spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.834 sec., 330ft-2.119, 660ft-2.987/292.39 mph.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.750/323.19, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.779/283.55, Was #8
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon No Time, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.699/322.42, Was #4

Millican kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number eight spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.841 sec., 330ft-2.125, 660ft-3.006/286.01 mph.

Langdon's car didn't move again this time when the light turned green.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.657/334.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.686/332.51, Was #2
Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.728/323.97, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.687/328.06, Was #3

Force launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the weekend. She will start from the number one spot for the 19th time in her career. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.821 sec., 330ft-2.083, 660ft-2.938/296.96 mph. She will have a bye in round one.

Pruett with another good looking pass, the fourth quickest of the session, she will start Sunday from the number three spot. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.116, 660ft-2.985/288.83 mph.
