POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 55th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.022/191.13, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.043/189.28, Was #16

3:21 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 28.80 inches, adjusted altitude 3,284 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

Matt Smith is number one at 6.815 and Katie Sullivan is on the bump spot at 7.043.

Clean and straight for Sullivan to move her off of the bump spot and into #15. Not safe yet, but better!

Katie Sullivan's incremental times: 60ft-1.087 sec., 330ft-2.921, 660ft-4.480/156.84 mph, 1,000ft-5.848.


Left Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 6.972/186.74, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.044/187.76, Was #17
Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.072/189.07, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.023/191.02, Was #16

Michael Ray is now on the bump spot at 7.023.

Salinas runs a career best ET to bump into the field in the #12 position.

Clean pass for Ray, but he doesn't improve.

Jianna Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-1.068 sec., 330ft-2.866, 660ft-4.411/158.04 mph, 1,000ft-5.778.
Michael Ray's incremental times: 60ft-1.074 sec., 330ft-2.927, 660ft-4.503/155.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.886.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 6.965/194.24, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.988/193.63, Was #14
Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.005/189.92, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.010/191.78, Was #15

Katie Sullivan is back on the bump spot at 7.022 and won't be bumped.

Two strong passes and both riders improve.

Camarena picks up two spots to #12, but Clontz will stay #15.

Freddie Camarena's incremental times: 60ft-1.079 sec., 330ft-2.901, 660ft-4.453/157.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.808.
Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.064 sec., 330ft-2.894, 660ft-4.456/156.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.827.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.033/192.41, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.978/194.60, Was #14
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.879/196.96, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.907/196.85, Was #10

Oehler finds a little more tune up and moves up a spot to #9.

Smith has a clean pass, but does not improve.

Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.113 sec., 330ft-2.959, 660ft-4.515/157.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.871.
Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.879, 660ft-4.408/160.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.740.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.922/195.08, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.913/196.47, Was #11
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.890/193.29, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.882/194.02, Was #10

Two clean passes, but neither rider will improve.

Arana's bike slowly drifted towards the centerline going down the track, but he keep it off of the stripe.

Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.885, 660ft-4.428/159.04 mph, 1,000ft-5.772.
Angelle Sampey's incremental times: 60ft-1.055 sec., 330ft-2.852, 660ft-4.383/159.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.731.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.978/195.34, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.867/196.36, Was #6
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.908/195.08, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.873/196.39, Was #8

The pattern continues, as the better qualified bikes run close to their best, but don't improve.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.115 sec., 330ft-2.952, 660ft-4.492/159.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.833.
Scotty Pollacheck's incremental times: 60ft-1.084 sec., 330ft-2.899, 660ft-4.424/160.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.760.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.850/194.86, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.861/194.69, Was #5
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.903/195.96, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.871/196.27, Was #7

Johnson continues to improve on already good times and runes better again. He will stay #5 though.

Krawiec is just a tad off of his best pass.

Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.058 sec., 330ft-2.855, 660ft-4.379/160.90 mph, 1,000ft-5.708.
Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.097 sec., 330ft-2.898, 660ft-4.424/160.29 mph, 1,000ft-5.759.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 7.639/127.51, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.837/193.35, Was #3
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.863/195.48, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.845/196.22, Was #4

Savoie's bike made a strong leave and then had smoke from the pipes right at the 330 lights. OUCH! Expensive!

Hines joins the "Just A Tad Slower" group!

Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.863, 660ft-4.387/160.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.718.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.845/197.65, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.815/197.33, Was #1
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.883/195.56, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.834/195.00, Was #2

Two clean, but not quicker passes to wrap up Pro Stock qualifying for 2019!

Smith had the better numbers but, like Savoie had smoke from the bike. Right after the finish line this time.

Stoffer left with a great 0.008 light and makes her fastest pass of the weekend.

Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.068 sec., 330ft-2.873, 660ft-4.403/160.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.739.
