POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 55th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals:

Hough already has 150 rounds of eliminations behind him with an 80% first round record. This will only be the fourth round of eliminations for Parker. This is the first time Hough and Parker have faced each other in eliminations.

Hough takes the starting line advantage and Pulls steadily ahead to the finish line to take the decisive win.

Parker finally gets a full pass, but it's not strong enough for today.

This will be Leanders 50th round one match up with a 69% win record. Martin has a 61% win record in his thirty-three round one encounters. Leanders is 5 - 0 against Martin in prior events.

Just 0.003 difference in RT's. Leanders starts to shake first, pumps, and still makes a strong pass. He will get the bye run next round

Martin is in trouble after that and gets way loose. He pumps too and gets close to the wall before lifting.

Marshall was away first and running hard with better times until right before the 330 lights, where the blower goes BANG!

Westerfield just gets on by for the win.

This will be Jay Payne's 897th round of eliminations in national event competition and that's more than any Mellow Yellow Pro or Top Alcohol driver except John Force. Ruckman is making his 65th round of racing with a 51% win record. 64% in round one matchups. Payne is 6 - 4 against Ruckman in prior events.

Payne is late and Ruckman puts off the upset hole shot win on his best pass of the weekend. Payne made his best run too.

He will have lane choice over Hough in the next round.

Gasparrelli is away first, but goes into tire shake. He pumps the pedal and recovers to get back by right before the 1000 foot lights to take the win.

Marshall will have lane choice next round.
