POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 55th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Cody Lane Runs 10.903/85.80/2.303, Now #16; B/SMA Index: 8.60, Prior Best: 8.166/151.58/-0.434, Was #16
Right Lane: Jason Grima Runs 7.049/179.95/-0.611, Now #4; B/A Index: 7.66, Prior Best: 7.057/182.87/-0.603, Was #4

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 28.92 inches, adjusted altitude 2,737 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Grima is running their Australian Pro Stock Mustang in B/A today! Another clean pass with a better ET, but he will stay #4.

Lane's Cobalt went dead right at the green and he had his hands full getting it back into the center of the lane. He wisely gives it up early.

Hodges' Camaro starts a steady pull towards the wall and he finally gave it up before the 330 lights.

Much better passes a pair!

Mettler gets a full pass this time and moves fifteen positions up to the #5 spot.

A clean pass for Snyder too and he goes to #16.

Straight pass for Van Paepeghem, but it looked like some tire spin at the green.

Steven runs without drama to stay #6.

Lee tunes up the little Honda and makes a pass near his usual pace. Right up to the #2 spot.

Jones makes a clean pass with a little better times to stay #20.

Full pass for Rampy this time and it's a clean and straight pass into the #3 spot.

Lambeck slows down track and loses a spot on the ladder.

Mitsos ' car does a little tail wagging early, but makes a much better pass to move up three spots.

Greenheck finds a little speed, but loses a little ET to stary #9.

Two strong passes!

Aragona moves up two spots to #3.

Graham gets a full pass this time and moves way up the ladder to #6.

McClay is just a tad better this time and moves up a spot to #11.

Mandella gets to the lights under power and is now #13.

Two broken runs.

Warter's engine sounded like a missed shift and Mozeris has his dragster make a big move towards the center line at the green.

Right Lane: Ryan Priddy Runs 12.821/81.10/4.351, Now #17; FS/SM Index: 8.47, Prior Best: 7.961/172.14/-0.509, Was #17

Another aborted pass. Priddy is loose and coasting early.

Right Lane: Kurt Hugger Runs 7.420/182.92/-0.610, Now #1; PST Index: 8.03, Prior Best: 7.358/183.77/-0.672, Was #1

Hugger can't improve ,as the pickup uses a lot of track getting to the finish line.

1:52 p.m. Kurt Hugger is still number one at -0.672. Field not filled, no bump spot.
