Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Michael Bowman Runs 9.505/104.96, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.948/248.07, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 11 percent, barometer 27.97 inches, adjusted altitude 3,713 feet, track temperature 97 degrees.

Bowman with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 5.860/247.34, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.861/249.53, Was #14
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.897/245.00, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.896/245.32, Was #16

Satterfield is a tick quicker to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number 14 spot.

Janis is a tick slower than his qualifying time, and he will stay on the bump.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.446/169.72, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.840/252.61, Was #13
Right Lane: Bob Rahaim Runs 9.139/111.19, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.869/234.78, Was #15

Laughlin clicks it off early.

Rahaim makes a quick move toward the wall and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 5.772/247.29, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.807/246.08, Was #10
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 9.736/89.78, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.834/241.84, Was #12

Snider launched hard and kept it hooked up to move into the top half of the show. Brandon Snider's incremental times: 60ft-0.949 sec., 330ft-2.529, 660ft-3.788/196.47 mph, 1,000ft-4.864.

Winters shook and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.861/242.36, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.805/244.47, Was #10
Right Lane: Eric Latino Runs 9.323/97.76, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.826/246.80, Was #11

Whiteley with a clean pass, but will not improve.

Latino shook and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 10.762/79.50, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.786/253.90, Was #8
Right Lane: Scott Oksas Runs 5.837/250.64, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.797/251.63, Was #9

Biehle lost traction and clicked it off.

Oksas with the second quickest pass of the session, but won't improve.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.766/249.03, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.762/248.07, Was #4
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.797/252.00, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.782/253.37, Was #7

This is a great side-by-side drag race...

Castellana launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. He will not improve. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.956 sec., 330ft-2.539, 660ft-3.793/198.32 mph, 1,000ft-4.863.

alBalooshi is straight down the groove with the third quickest pass of the session, but will not improve. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.602, 660ft-3.847/199.02 mph, 1,000ft-4.905.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 5.791/252.38, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.757/254.52, Was #3
Right Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 5.766/248.29, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.763/249.95, Was #5

This is a great side-by-side drag race...

Matusek is straight down the groove with the fourth quickest pass of the session, he will not improve. Steve Matusek's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.616, 660ft-3.845/199.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.900.

Whiteley with a great pass just off his qualifying time, he makes the second quickest pass of the session. Steven Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.531, 660ft-3.789/196.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.860.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 6.067/173.21, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.751/250.04, Was #2
Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.755/250.51, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.735/250.37, Was #1

Tutterow started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. He qualifies number one for the fourth time this season and the fifth time in his career. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.544, 660ft-3.791/198.06 mph, 1,000ft-4.857.
