LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.807/252.95, Now #7; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 7 percent, barometer 28.03 inches, adjusted altitude 3,369 feet.

alBalooshi drove by the scales in round one so that run was thrown out. He is straight down the groove with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.615, 660ft-3.860/199.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.917.

Left Lane: Michael Bowman Runs 5.948/248.07, Now #15; Best prior run: 11.710/80.75, Was #17
Right Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 5.846/243.55, Now #11; Best prior run: 9.600/90.18, Was #16

Bowman kept it hooked up to get in the show. Bowman is making his first race on the NHRA tour since St. Louis 2018.

Snider with a good pass to get off the bump spot.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.896/245.32, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.927/244.56, Was #14
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 5.951/247.66, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.446/240.12, Was #17

Janis make a little move in the right direction, but stays in the number 14 spot.

Satterfield with a clean pass to get in the show.

Left Lane: Bob Rahaim Runs 10.194/95.30, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.869/234.78, Was #13
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 5.919/249.67, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.955/248.29, Was #17

Rahaim with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Laughlin is straight down the groove to get back in the show.

Left Lane: Doug Winters Runs 5.847/238.43, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.860/239.19, Was #12
Right Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 7.331/129.94, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.820/252.80, Was #8

Winters improves, but not enough to move up the ladder.

Biehle starts to smoke the tires and gets real loose before clicking it off.

Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 10.755/77.97, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.805/244.47, Was #6

Latino is straight down the groove to move up the ladder one spot.

Whiteley with tire shake and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.789/248.43, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.785/247.25, Was #5

Oksas with a clean pass, but will not improve.

Castellana with another great pass, just off his pass from earlier today. This is the quickest pass of the session. He will stay in the number five spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.558, 660ft-3.812/197.33 mph, 1,000ft-4.883.

Left Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 7.931/119.28, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.763/249.95, Was #4
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.835/152.43, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.757/254.52, Was #3

Whiteley is out of the groove early and over by the wall before he clicks it off.

Matusek got loose and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.735/250.37, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.744/249.76, Was #1
Right Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 5.754/250.78, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.751/250.04, Was #2

This was a great side-by-side drag race.

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the weekend. He improves on his number one spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.526, 660ft-3.771/198.35 mph, 1,000ft-4.836.

Tutterow with another great pass, the second quickest of the session. He will not improve and stays in the number two spot. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.539, 660ft-3.790/198.38 mph, 1,000ft-4.856.
