LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Ed Federkeil Jr Runs 25.035/23.75/17.325, Now #2; B/AA Index: 7.71, Prior Best: 7.032/196.73/-0.678, Was #2
Right Lane: Richard Mace Runs 9.120/143.67/-0.280, Now #22; F/SMA Index: 9.40, Prior Best: 9.251/147.55/-0.149, Was #22

10:30 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 51 degrees, relative humidity 14 percent, barometer 28.12 inches, adjusted altitude 1,824 feet, track temperature 61 degrees.

Federkeil has traction problems at the hit and backs off of the throttle. Mace makes his quickest pass of the weekend but stays in the 22nd spot.

Mozeris makes his quickest pass of the weekend but stays in the 23rd spot. McClay slows from his earlier attempt.

Van Paepeghem makes a quick move to the right at the hit and he slows from his earlier attempt. Schmiedl improves a little and moves up to the3 second spot for now.

Stevens has problems at the hit, backs off of the throttle, and doesn't make it to the end of the track. Alexandra has problems and is off of the throttle early.

Edwards improves and moves up to the 19th spot. Warter makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up to the 12th spot.

Lane slows from his earlier attempt but stays in the top spot. Bevers slows a little and stays in the seventh spot.

Grima makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up to the tenth spot for now. Mettler improves and moves up a couple of spots to ninth.

Mandella makes a big improvement and moves all the way to the second spot for now. Hodges slows and drops a spot as Mandella goes around him.

Mitsos improves a little but not enough to move up in the order. Greenheck slows from his earlier attempt.
