JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 7.025/191.00, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.055/191.32, Was #12

8:18 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 58 percent, barometer 29.12 inches, adjusted altitude 3,066 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

Ingwersen makes a decent pass and improves but not enough to move up in the order.

Left Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 7.080/191.02, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.989/190.97, Was #11

Salinas is a little sluggish off the line and slows from her earlier pass.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.934/196.42, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.951/196.27, Was #8
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.021/190.86, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.987/193.16, Was #10

Oehler improves from his earlier attempt but not enough to move up in the order. Pollacheck slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 10.792/78.69, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.901/195.96, Was #7
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.912/195.00, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.976/194.32, Was #9

Smith gets about 500 feet out and the engine goes silent, not sure why. Stoffer makes her quickest pass of the day and moves up to the eighth spot.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.844/196.90, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.890/196.99, Was #6
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.912/194.88, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.849/197.54, Was #3

Hines goes down the groove with a good pass and moves up to the second spot. Arana drifted toward the centerline early in the run and slowed from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.838/197.22, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.872/197.54, Was #6
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.835/196.87, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.845/197.33, Was #3

A good side-by-side here, both right down the groove with the quickest passes of the day. Krawiec gets to the line first and takes the top spot, Arana jr. right behind in second.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.023/169.17, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.867/195.36, Was #6
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.837/198.32, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.842/198.64, Was #3

Smith goes down the groove with a good pass to get into the second spot. Sampey drifted a little toward the wall and was off the throttle early.
