JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Robert River Runs 6.899/200.83, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.13 inches, adjusted altitude 3,367 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

This is River's third race and his first this season. He is straight down the groove with a nice clean pass.

Left Lane: Richard Freeman Runs 6.622/207.69, Now #1
Right Lane: Fernando Cuadra Jr. Runs 6.859/203.40, Now #2

Freeman with the new Mustang and his first race since Topeka last year. Freeman launched hard and kept it hooked up with a nice pass. Richard Freeman's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.259/165.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.541.

Cuadra Jr. with his second race and he makes a clean pass to start the weekend.

Left Lane: Wally Stroupe Runs 8.173/121.01, Now #5
Right Lane: Shane Tucker Runs 6.658/207.78, Now #2

Stroupe is at his third race this season. He shakes early and clicks it off.

Tucker is at his fifth race this season. He makes a nice clean pass to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Alan Prusiensky Runs 6.748/205.91, Now #4
Right Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.665/206.92, Now #3

Prusiensky goes to the number four spot.

Smeland is straight down the groove to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Fernando Cuadra Runs 6.595/207.94, Now #1
Right Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.666/208.26, Now #5

Cuadra is straight down the groove with a good clean pass...Fernando Cuadra's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.752, 660ft-4.238/165.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.517.

Delco with a clean pass...

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.608/209.01, Now #2
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.636/208.46, Now #4

Kramer with a good looking pass to go to the number two spot. He runs the fastest pass of the session. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.248/165.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.530.

McGaha with a nice to go to the number four spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.273/165.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.556.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.611/207.27, Now #3
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.621/207.11, Now #4

Brogdon goes to the number three spot with a good looking pass. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.249/165.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.531.

Enders is right there with him to go to the number four spot. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.245/164.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.533.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.617/207.75, Now #5
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.607/208.94, Now #2

Coughlin with a nice pass, straight down the groove to the number five spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.254/165.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.536.

Anderson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.253/165.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.531.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.585/206.76, Now #1
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.607/209.26, Now #3

Hartford is straight down the groove with a great looking pass to go to the number one spot. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.230/166.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.507.

Line was right there with him to go to the number three spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.251/165.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.531.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.606/206.92, Now #3
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.621/208.10, Now #9

Laughlin is straight down the groove to go to the number three spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.244/165.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.526.

Butner goes to the number nine spot.
