Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

DINWIDDIE, Va. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual Virginia NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Audrey Worm Runs 3.968/297.55, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.752/165.07, Was #17
Right Lane: Ike Maier Runs 4.265/266.69, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.740/117.26, Was #18

Weather conditions: air temperature 91 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.70 inches, adjusted altitude 3,168 feet, track temperature 131 degrees.

Worm launched hard and kept it hooked up to make her career best pass to get in the show. Audrey Worm's incremental times: 60ft-0.865 sec., 330ft-2.225, 660ft-3.167/269.35 mph.

Maier is straight down the groove to get in the sho on the bump. Ike Maier's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.397, 660ft-3.396/252.43 mph.

Right Lane: Cameron Ferre Runs 3.998/293.92, Now #15; Best prior run: 4.303/199.37, Was #17

Ferre who just got bumped out gets back in the show with a good clean pass...he ties his season best on this pass to get back in the show. Cameron Ferre's incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.244, 660ft-3.194/268.12 mph.

Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.888/310.70, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.824/324.83, Was #10
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.889/320.74, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.886/321.65, Was #12

Prock is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.171, 660ft-3.110/271.19 mph.

Palmer with another good pass, just off his quickest pass of the weekend. Scott Palmer's incremental times: 60ft-0.870 sec., 330ft-2.217, 660ft-3.135/278.69 mph.

Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 4.758/163.63, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.812/319.75, Was #9
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.839/320.97, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.843/317.94, Was #11

It sounded like Torrence double stepped it and then the car started to lose traction and he clicked it off.

Brown kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number 11 spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.852 sec., 330ft-2.174, 660ft-3.086/280.95 mph.

Left Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 3.847/315.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.796/314.83, Was #7
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.844/317.34, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.811/320.51, Was #8

This was good side-by-side drag race, but neither driver improves.

Crampton with the third quickest pass of the session. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.179, 660ft-3.087/280.25 mph.

McMillen kept it hooked up to make the second quickest pass of the session. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.861 sec., 330ft-2.182, 660ft-3.089/280.54 mph.

Left Lane: Leah Pritchett Runs 4.360/184.40, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.793/321.58, Was #6
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.848/319.75, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.783/323.81, Was #5

Pritchett started to haze the tires around half track and clicked it off.

Kalitta with the fourth quickest pass of the session. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.187, 660ft-3.095/281.42 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.874/314.24, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.772/319.98, Was #3
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.791/325.14, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.773/321.81, Was #4

Force with another good pass, but will not improve. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.172, 660ft-3.106/274.55 mph.

Torrence launched hard and kept it hooked up all the way to make the quickest pass of the session. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.163, 660ft-3.051/286.86 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.811/322.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.754/323.04, Was #2
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.820/319.45, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.749/325.30, Was #1

A good side-by-side drag race to wrap up qualifying.

Salinas with the second quickest pass of the session and will start Sunday from the number two spot. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.834 sec., 330ft-2.150, 660ft-3.061/281.42 mph.

Millican with the third quickest pass of the session and he holds on to the number one spot for the first time this season and the 21st tim in his career. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.835 sec., 330ft-2.146, 660ft-3.065/277.77 mph.
