DINWIDDIE, Va. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual Virginia NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Audrey Worm Runs 4.752/165.07, Now #1
Right Lane: Ike Maier Runs 6.247/101.10, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.58 inches, adjusted altitude 2,887 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.

Worm starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Maier is mixing up cylinders early and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.937/317.19, Now #2

Torrence is straight down the groove with a nice pass to go to the number one spot. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.868 sec., 330ft-2.215, 660ft-3.144/276.35 mph.
