DINWIDDIE, Va. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual Virginia NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.978/192.91, Now #1
Right Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 11.646/67.56, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 29.58 inches, adjusted altitude 2,962 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.

Hall is straight down the groove.

Salinas makes a quick move toward the wall and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.017/190.70, Now #2
Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.020/191.62, Now #3

Pollacheck with a clean pass...

Clontz is right there with him.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.985/191.24, Now #3
Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 6.969/192.44, Now #1

Johnson goes to the number three spot.

Reed was straight down the groove to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.873/193.02, Now #1
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 26.677/22.35, Now #8

Sampey was straight down the groove to the number one spot. Angelle Sampey's incremental times: 60ft-1.044 sec., 330ft-2.839, 660ft-4.369/159.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.716.

smith with problems right at the hit and clicked it off and coast on down the track.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.981/193.38, Now #5
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.967/192.77, Now #2

Arana gets into the top half of the show.

Gladstone with a good looking pass to go to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.879/195.65, Now #2
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.904/196.04, Now #3

Stoffer launched hard and kept it straight down the groove to the number two spot. Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.082 sec., 330ft-2.882, 660ft-4.401/160.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.735.

Oehler was right there with her to the number three spot. Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.098 sec., 330ft-2.904, 660ft-4.430/159.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.763.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.851/197.91, Now #1
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.878/192.77, Now #3

Smith right to the number one spot also with top speed of the round. Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.883, 660ft-4.401/161.75 mph, 1,000ft-5.722.

Arana Jr. goes to the number three spot. Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.043 sec., 330ft-2.847, 660ft-4.375/159.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.719.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.916/195.82, Now #7
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.902/195.65, Now #5

Krawiec spun right off the starting line, but stayed with it to get into the top half of the show.

Hines is straight down the groove to the number five spot.
