DINWIDDIE, Va. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual Virginia NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Chuck Little Runs 13.440/66.27, Now #2
Right Lane: Harry Hruska Runs 7.571/209.01, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 29.58 inches, adjusted altitude 2,962 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

Little with his first pass this weekend and he has severe tire shake and clicks it off.

Hruska shook and pedaled it before clicking it off early.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 5.860/255.77, Now #1
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 14.240/78.52, Now #4

Matusek is straight down the groove.

King shook and shut it off.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.338/246.08, Now #2
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 8.307/122.95, Now #4

Satterfield shook and pedaled it.

winter shook early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Eric Latino Runs 5.885/244.83, Now #2
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.177/249.81, Now #3

Latino is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Laughlin clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 6.163/182.45, Now #3
Right Lane: Bob Rahaim Runs 9.966/90.15, Now #8

Snider started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Rahaim started to haze the tires and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.836/256.21, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.914/247.38, Now #4

alBalooshi is straight down the groove with a nice pass to go to the number one spot. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-1.022 sec., 330ft-2.688, 660ft-3.913/201.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.957.

Castellana with a good pass.

Left Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.804/256.84, Now #1
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 5.876/256.65, Now #4

Frigo goes to the number one spot with a nice pass. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.658, 660ft-3.882/201.85 mph, 1,000ft-4.926.

Enders with a good clean pass...Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-2.713, 660ft-3.949/199.88 mph, 1,000ft-4.998.

Left Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 5.893/247.84, Now #7
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.836/248.93, Now #3

Whiteley is straight down the groove to get in the top half of the show.

Smith is back in his nitrous car and he kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.619, 660ft-3.872/198.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.936.

Left Lane: Chad Green No Time, Now #18
Right Lane: Jeremy Ray Runs 5.836/246.53, Now #4

Green with problems getting the car to fire and then problems getting the car back to the starting line after the burnout. The car then jumped through the beams and he coast to a stop around 400 feet.

Ray with good clean pass to go to the number four spot. Jeremy Ray's incremental times: 60ft-0.970 sec., 330ft-2.578, 660ft-3.844/195.68 mph, 1,000ft-4.925.

Left Lane: Jose Gonzalez Runs 5.822/256.36, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.818/245.40, Now #2

A good side-by-side drag race.

Gonzalez is straight down the groove to the number three spot. Jose Gonzalez's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.675, 660ft-3.901/201.79 mph, 1,000ft-4.945.

Janis launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-0.971 sec., 330ft-2.577, 660ft-3.837/196.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.910.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 5.840/216.17, Now #8
Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.791/239.87, Now #1

Tutterow into the top half of the field with a lot of smoke right in the lights. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.962 sec., 330ft-2.550, 660ft-3.803/197.77 mph, 1,000ft-4.873.

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot with a great pass. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.554, 660ft-3.806/197.42 mph, 1,000ft-4.876.
