COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Andie Rawlings Runs 7.357/161.59, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.326/180.89, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 57 percent, barometer 29.12 inches, adjusted altitude 3,499 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

Rawlings was off the throttle on the top end and will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Melissa Surber No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.026/191.48, Was #14
Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 7.019/191.81, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.983/192.25, Was #12

Surber with problems right at the hit and came to a stop before right off the starting line.

No help here for Reed.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.990/195.96, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.016/194.97, Was #13
Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.076/190.48, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.081/191.27, Was #16

Smith with her quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number 13 spot. Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.117 sec., 330ft-2.961, 660ft-4.505/159.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.845.

Clontz with her quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay on the bump spot. Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.101 sec., 330ft-2.952, 660ft-4.525/155.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.899.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.905/192.55, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.919/194.38, Was #8
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.996/192.63, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.051/190.32, Was #15

Sampey is straight down the groove to move up on the ladder a couple spots. Angelle Sampey's incremental times: 60ft-1.058 sec., 330ft-2.861, 660ft-4.395/159.44 mph, 1,000ft-5.743.

Pollacheck with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder one spot. Scotty Pollacheck's incremental times: 60ft-1.106 sec., 330ft-2.943, 660ft-4.488/158.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.836.

Left Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.955/193.32, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.946/193.99, Was #10
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 8.871/110.09, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.957/194.55, Was #11

Gladstone with another good pass, but will not improve. Joey Gladstone's incremental times: 60ft-1.079 sec., 330ft-2.903, 660ft-4.448/158.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.796.

Arana with problems right at the hit and clicks it off.

Stoffer with a good ps, but will not improve. Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.090 sec., 330ft-2.913, 660ft-4.448/159.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.786.

Oehler will not improve, but still has the fastest pass of the weekend. Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.108 sec., 330ft-2.925, 660ft-4.463/159.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.804.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.039/195.76, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.909/196.33, Was #8
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.941/193.82, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.901/193.18, Was #5

No help here for Smith, but has big top end speed. Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.153 sec., 330ft-3.007, 660ft-4.552/158.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.893.

Savoie with a good pass, but will not improve. Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.110 sec., 330ft-2.917, 660ft-4.448/160.37 mph, 1,000ft-5.788.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.922/192.55, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.892/192.36, Was #4
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.871/195.65, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.861/196.27, Was #3

Johnson with a good pass, but will not improve. Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.072 sec., 330ft-2.880, 660ft-4.419/158.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.765.

Arana Jr with a good looking pass, the quickest pass of the round. He will not improve. Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.857, 660ft-4.389/160.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.726.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.851/196.90, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.859/197.02, Was #2
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.855/196.44, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.856/195.82, Was #1

This was a great side-by-side drag race.

Krawiec launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.074 sec., 330ft-2.868, 660ft-4.389/161.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.715.

Hines improves, but gets bumped back one spot by his teammate. Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.067 sec., 330ft-2.859, 660ft-4.384/161.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.714.
