COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Harry Hruska No Time, Now #25; Best prior run: 10.700/138.37, Was #25

Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 29.16 inches, adjusted altitude 3,309 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Hruska does the burnout and the car dies at the end of the burnout and he is pushed back to the starting line.

Left Lane: Jeremy Ray Runs 10.470/79.36, Now #24; Best prior run: 9.433/93.88, Was #24
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.080/240.81, Now #12; Best prior run: 8.548/109.05, Was #21

Ray with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Matusek is straight down the groove to get in the show.

Left Lane: Doug Winters Runs 5.914/243.90, Now #7; Best prior run: 9.168/98.68, Was #23
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 7.120/147.60, Now #17; Best prior run: 8.332/131.87, Was #20

Winters kept it hooked up to get in the top half of the show. Doug Winters' incremental times: 60ft-1.022 sec., 330ft-2.640, 660ft-3.906/196.39 mph, 1,000ft-4.998.

Satterfield is real loose early and clicks it off.

Latino kept it hooked up to go to the number five spot. Eric Latino's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.606, 660ft-3.884/194.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.970.

Castellana is straight down the groove to get in the show. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-1.075 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.043/193.18 mph, 1,000ft-5.137.

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.950/247.93, Now #11; Best prior run: 8.505/107.50, Was #23
Right Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 11.175/78.53, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.110/128.59, Was #18

alBalooshi switched to the turbo car here...he launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number 11 spot. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.689, 660ft-3.963/195.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.041.

Whiteley with tire shake and clicked it off.

Hord timed out...

Gonzalez kept it hooked up to get in the show into the top half of the show. Gonzalez runs top speed of the event. Jose Gonzalez's incremental times: 60ft-1.022 sec., 330ft-2.698, 660ft-3.946/200.50 mph, 1,000ft-4.996.

King makes a big improvement, but not enough to get in the show.

Biehle was straight down the groove to get in the show. Michael Biehle's incremental times: 60ft-1.026 sec., 330ft-2.703, 660ft-3.947/198.44 mph, 1,000ft-5.007.

Snider is just a few ticks off his earlier pass. Brandon Snider's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.600, 660ft-3.891/192.30 mph, 1,000ft-4.992.

Enders gets into the show at the number 15 spot. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.071 sec., 330ft-2.806, 660ft-4.053/198.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.111.

Laughlin launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot and runs top speed of the event. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.641, 660ft-3.866/201.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.911.

Green kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up to go to the number one spot. Chad Green's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.587, 660ft-3.831/199.88 mph, 1,000ft-4.886.

Smith is straight down the groove to move up the ladder to the number five spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.022 sec., 330ft-2.680, 660ft-3.924/201.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.975.

Left Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.768/250.69, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.840/248.84, Was #4

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.557, 660ft-3.804/198.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.870.

Frigo with a real nice pass to move up the ladder three spots. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.659, 660ft-3.907/200.71 mph, 1,000ft-4.957.

Janis with another good pass, but gets bumped back a spot by Tutterow. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.567, 660ft-3.828/196.62 mph, 1,000ft-4.904.

Tutterow is straight down the groove into the number four spot. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.552, 660ft-3.813/197.19 mph, 1,000ft-4.889.
